On Friday, Facebook carried out a purge of left-wing, antiwar and progressive Facebook pages and accounts, including members of the Socialist Equality Party.

When facebook censored the right, I said nothing because it was to my benefit. But now that they are coming for the left, I must now take a principled stance on free speech grounds even though I know full well free speech does not apply to private companies, but I will pretend not to know.
Another argument to tax social media companies and use that money to hire third party mods instead of letting them control the algorithms.
I think this was done to avoid lawsuits.
You can't ban one political side and give a free pass to the other.

I would really want to see who these organizations are. I don't recognize them so I can't tell how serious they are.
Facebook has a long history of shutting down leftist posters for all kinds of reasons, so nothing new there. But there is also a long history of bullshit on the leftwing side as well. If you actually do some fact checking as your filter, there are a bunch of fringe groups on all corners of the political spectrum who are going to get struck down and all of them will claim to be unfairly targeted.

Shutting down posters because of their political views is far different than shutting down posters who do things like promote violence. At this point we don't know where this sits.
