Pulling the product is a publicity stunt for cameras…. Anytime they are caught, they play a shell game, and maybe change the packaging.

We all know the clothes we wear are made in foreign sweatshops…. And the food we eat is farmed by dirt cheap labour.

You can say that again. I make maybe $2 per hour growing my own food, and food for the neighborhood. .

Here
I don't think it'll affect the price at all most of our tomatoes are grown, processed, and distributed in North and South America and can be grown locally in green houses in winter

Just got the last of my tomatoes picked. Already canned some of my summer tomatoes and will do the same with this batch. Should hold me over until I get next year’s crop in the ground.

Only thing I buy from the supermarket that’s made from tomatoes is probably ketchup, and I’ve been playing around with some recipes, so if the price does go up, I’ll be good.

Where in the article the OP quotes does it say anything about 5 dollar + increases.
Actually the article says NOTHING about price increases.

So the clickbait title about "Experts" saying anything about the price going up by at least 5 bucks is made up bullshit.

Will prices go up by a bit, maybe, I guess. But the OP is either flat out lying and making stuff up because the article says nothing about it, or he never read the article at all and just invented a bunch of bullshit to title the thread with.

Can't trust people on Terb. It's pretty lame to invent shit or share articles you obviously have not read because your commentary doesn't match the article in question.

There seemed to be an over supply of fresh tomatoes last winter, as the price were lower than other winters. I love pineapples, there seems to be an over supply of that as well, they are on special for $1.68 this week. The products that have a short shelf life will go on sale as they ripen and must be sold at a low cost. The fast food places are not consuming fresh tomatoes as fast as they use to, so the supply is pushed to the supermarkets. According to the article in the OP the supply is being restricted by the US government and tomato paste and sauce may be in short supply.
