Robert Reich posted this 3 months ago… nailed it.

Like all Ponzi schemes, when you invest in crypto, the only way to increase the value is to get new investors after you. And like all good Ponzi schemes, the ones who cash out first walk away with the money, and the ones who are left own a valueless asset worth nothing.

Apparently Elon feels the same about crypto…. Claims bitcoin will reduce to zero. This is going to confuse some people on this board… the ones that love Elon and swear by crypto…

This old news. He said this like 4 or 5 years ago.
I know(2018). That is one of the reasons I posted it. He was way ahead. I have always remembered that quote although cypto never made much sense to me regardless.

We can’t let a day go by without a report on Twitter’s implosion, can we? Let’s have a look.
November 24, 2022 Alan Cross 0 Comments Apple, Blue Checkmarks, Elon Musk, Google, Twitter
No matter what kind of week you’re having, it can’t be worse than what Elon Musk has managed to do to his US$44 billion investment in Twitter. Here’s the latest.

Elon has lost a bit of money.
Thanks to everything that’s happening with Twitter (at least partly), Tesla stock is down 55% this year. That’s helped wipe out US$100 billion Elon’s wealth. ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS.
Twitter and Apple are on a collision course
By charging for subscriptions, Twitter could end up violating Apple and Google’s app rules that could even see Twitter booted from their app stores. Gee, that wouldn’t hurt, would it?

So who, exactly, is paying for Twitter’s blue checkmarks?
Who has decided to fork out $7.99 a month for the privilege of having a checkmark? About 140,000 people apparently. Adult film starts make up a not-insignificant percentage of that number.
Elon’s polls are bogus
Take it from this professor. He believes that Musk is nothing but a publicity whore. So does New York magazine.
Here’s a list of all the celebrities who have quit Twitter
And the list is growing.

In less than a month, half of Twitter’s top 100 advertisers have bailed
HALF!
If Musk has a plan, I have no idea what it is.
Maybe Twitter won’t crash and burn after all.
At least this guy thinks so. Losing 70% of the staff? No problem!
The again, this could be the end of the Tech Bro
We can only hope.

And what the freakin’ hell is this?
It’s a US$600,000 statue of Elon on a doge body atop a rock that some crypto nerds have fashioned as a gift. (Oh, and for another story about a gift, go here.)

GTA & Thereabouts...
I cashed out from mine today actually... Stayed too long, so I took a loss, but I knew the risks going in. May jump back in if things look promising. Overall, a neat experience.

The idea of bitcoin was genius and people truly became rich but the scams that come around it (like FTX) will kill crypto forever I think.

crypto is like selling sand in the desert. Do not be surprised if the market go as low as the stupidest understood what is going on.

Exact same thing. I remember when it peeked my curiosity a bit, it was Warren Buffet that I decided to see what he had to say about it, and everything he said made total sense to me. Ever since I've been trying to talk people out of it, but unfortunately there are always people that are going believe what they want to believe, despite one of the smartest and most honest investors of all time telling them it's rat poison.

Never invested a penny into crypto, it never made sense to me. For crypto to become the gold standard, Central Banks would need to relinquish control over monetary policy. Establishing what Michael Palin called an anarcho - syndicalist financial system, that was never going to happen. Such a system would grease the wheels toward a Mega Great Depression. Nothing binds Central Bankers to the shitter faster than a date: October 29 1929. Elon Musk is an imbecile that damaged lives, he was peddling farts

Warren Buffet is not as smart as he seems, he paid $9.2 Billion to Elliot Management for Oncor Electric of Texas. It didn't exactly work out for him as the system crashed in Feb 2021, he got lucky Texans were willing to bail him out and Ted Cruz went to Cancun. At least Paul Singer is honest about being a robberbaron.

If he hadn't taken AC Milan away from Chinese paper tigers, I probably still wouldn't know about him.

In 2017 I invested just under $200 as an experiment. It was trading platform with multiple crypto’s. After I took a loss making dumb trades, I decided to sit and wait for the big rise in value… except after a year, the platform just took my money for inactivity.

a $200 lesson.
