THOUSANDS PROTEST FOR BUS DRIVER BEATEN & LEFT BRAIN DEAD BY ‘YOUTHS’ ASKED TO WEAR CORONA MASKS (WATCH)

On Sunday evening, July 5, around 7 p.m. in Bayonne, France, a gang of so-called “young people” boarded a bus without a ticket or coronavirus masks. After the driver, a 59-year-old father of three, asked them to vacate the bus, the gang violently punched and kicked him repeatedly, leaving him brain-dead. Several unnamed “youths”, who are known to the police, have been arrested in the assault. Philippe Monguillot’s fellow drivers, his wife Véronique, along with thousands in the town have staged protests. Bus drivers have refused to go to work to protest the brutal attack and for the sake of their own safety.

Several dozen drivers also marched to the hospital in Bayonne to support their violently assaulted colleague and his family. “It is true that we are quite dumbfounded”, said Jean-Philippe Paulmier, a bus union delegate. He said, “It is hard to understand how this kind of thing can happen.” “We did not expect that in this region,” added another union delegate, “there is all the time verbal aggression, the atmosphere is hyper tense for a few years, but there it is … I don’t know what to say.”

The Chronoplus bus network, which serves the Bayonne, Biarritz and Anglet area, was shut down on Monday by the staff strike, with at least nine lines stopped. The mayor of Bayonne Jean-René Etchegaray, denounced the attacks as an act of barbarism“. Delegates from three unions representing bus drivers met the mayor of Bayonne along with other local elected officials. The politicians promised swift measures to ensure the safety of the drivers.
Philippe’s Family Mourns
Philippe’s wife, Véronique and their three daughters, aged 18, 21 and 24, were allowed to go to his bedside on the nights of July 5 and 6th. “We touched him, smelled him, we talked to him. His head was deformed,” explained Véronique. She continued, We’re going to kiss my husband, we’re going to say goodbye.”

“I don’t want to face the facts, I feel like I’m living a nightmare. He can’t leave like that, he was going to be 59,” she adds crying. Heartbroken, Véronique Monguillot remembers the couples plan’s for the future. Just a day before the attack, she and her husband sat at a restaurant in Biarritz discussing their future:

“Philippe was going to be retired in a year and we thought we were going to buy a motorhome in September. We still wanted to profit [continue working]. We were destroyed in a matter of seconds. We were destroyed, yes …”
Mr. Monguillot’s 18-year-old daughter Marie told French news outlet, Sud Ouest: “It’s not my father breathing, it’s the ventilator… we know that it’s over. We are empty… we have no more tears.”

Premeditated Attack?
According to Véronique, her husband had an argument with two people around 2 p.m., a few hours before the deadly attack. She explains that the two passengers in question did not have a ticket and that her husband forced them to get off the bus.

Véronique Monguillot is left to wonder: What did these two individuals do between this first argument and the attack later that night on her husband? Could they have been joined by other people to attack him a little later at the bus stop?

There are so many gray areas that should be resolved during the police investigation, including releasing the identities of the attackers.

Arrests: What do we know about ‘Youth’ Attackers?
A “man” in his thirties who is “known to police” was arrested on Sunday evening after the attack, and four other violent individuals were placed in police custody on Monday July 6, said the prosecutor of Bayonne.

As of Wednesday, July 8, four people were charged, including two for “attempted homicide” and could face 30 years in prison. The two attackers, also known to police, aged 22 and 23, admitted to the attack while in police custody, according to french new outlet, Franceinfo.

The two other individuals suspected in the assault were also charged: one with “failure to assist a person in danger” and “concealment of a criminal”, and one with “failure to assist a person in danger”.

The four men stood before a judge on Tuesday evening and taken into custody, as requested by the prosecution.

As reported previously at RAIR, in virtually every instance of jihad attacks in France, politicians & media hide the identity of the attackers and often use words such as “youths” to describe them. In rare instances when the identity of an attacker is leaked, the suspect is presented as possibly suffering from mental health issues.

At least their first names are easy to remember.

Youth? Ironic the only one wearing a mask ended up on a respirator.

I'll never understand the rationale people have over something so simple as a mask. This is as egregious as that story of the Dollar Tree security guard being shot to death by a teenage son for telling the cashier to not serve his mother and grandmother. Senseless acts of violence. This is when you want to see the respective justice systems make an example of people.

They should put facial recognition software on bus cameras that can ID people with beards.

What a senseless act. I hope that those responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
