And yes, I will get another booster, as it has protected me from falling into serous illnesses at my stage in life as an older person. Solely focusing on COVID response and deaths leaves a lot of factors out of the discussion.
Eyeballing COVID deaths by state, Florida with its large elderly population (as you note) did better than I expected. Texas did even better. There appears to be an obvious overlap of states with high obesity rates and COVID deaths.
Now some prog here can say See Red states aren't healthy. Blue states make people heathlier.
The reality is that rural Southern states have a long, long tradition of fatty and carb-loaded diets which contribute to higher rates of obesity.

You can see this around the globe. Sweden and New Zealand took very different paths.
Sweden is a good example of people behaving smartly and not shutting down every aspect of daily life.
Your fear would be reasonable in 2020 or 2021. Not now. In fact, more shots leads to weaker immunity not stronger.
And you have no idea whether the shot saved you from serious illness rather than your immunity.
I took two shots because I had the same fears as you. Later I realized I was simply terrified and not thinking rationally.
I will never take another shot unless the death rate is serious.
That and Mississippi is the poorest state in the U.S. so I'm sure many were in poor health before covid.

Don't you think that if @kherg007 posts that Rand Paul has said he would "gaol" Fauci for the last five years there should be a source? Stating you want to gaol someone seems very unambiguous and easily demonstrated. We could debate what constitutes histrionics.

It's really psychotic to attack the man that way. Moreover, it's his personal diary where half baked shit is mused and ignored. It was not early drafts of professional work. If we elevate personal diaries, not designed for public release, to official government reports or to public policy positions then many here should go to gaol for conspiracy to commit lots of crimes.
So yes, investigate, but do it honestly.

I personally understand where the issue of perjury comes in surrounding gain-of-function research.
In my mind, U.S. bureaucrats are often loose with the truth and evasive when testifying to Congress.
Some of it is petty stuff. However, it doesn't take a lot of re-hashing the gain-of-function controversy to realize its magnitude.
As some commentators have stated, bad decisions are not a criminal issue.
Perjury depends on the testimony and deception.
