Breaking Bad - Milking the spinoffs

I recently finished watching Breaking Bad. It was well done with a good story line and characters.

I watched the spinoff series Better Call Saul. It was alright, but feel the story could have been achieved in half the episodes. It seemed to move to slow. I also watched El Camino, which is the spinoff movie about the Jesse Pinkman character. It was boring. I feel these spinoffs totally milked the well-deserved creation of Breaking Bad.

On the theme of creating poorly-created spinoffs from Breaking Bad, I can think of two that will be in the same vein of interest at Better Call Saul and El Camino.

Holly (Hank and Skyler's newborn daughter) wrestles with whether she will be referred to as Holly or Harry. This will last four seasons. The finale will end with Skyler choosing either a pink-themed corsage or blue-flowered boutonniere for high school graduation.

Hank Schraeder's wife will continue to shoplift (specializing in baking supplies) and work on herself in therapy sessions. The therapy sessions will endure for three seasons. The finale will end with her shoplifting supplies to make cupcakes and will have a bake-off and love affair with Martha Stewart.

I'm sort of torn about BCS. I watched El Camino and sort of wish I hadn't.

I liked that the series finale of BB left Jesse's fate up to the viewer's imagination. Don't get me wrong, if there was one character on that show who deserved a happy ending, it was Jesse, especially after the hell Walt put him through, but at the same time, I sort of liked the image of him driving into the night laughing and crying at his freedom.

Do you like your dog or cat better? I like them both, but each one is different. IMHO, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul both rate 8+/10. Is one so bad that you would have preferred to not have wasted your time?

Another excellent series is Boardwalk Empire with Steve Buscemi.

I invested in Better call Saul through the Quebec film tax credits. The winter scenes were filmed in Quebec.

Both are good but I like BB a little bit more.
The moral of both are about how a good man (or at least not a very bad man) to become wicked bit by bit.
