I think Ramón Laureano would be a great offseason pickup, (I don't expect the Atlanta Braves to retain him on their 40 man roster). Most likely, however, the Jays wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, because he has the taint of a PED suspension. Steroids, domestic battery accusations and tweets critical of the 2SLGBTQ+ community ensure a quick one-way ticket out of Hogtown, regardless of a player's in-game talents.

This clip is from Laurenano's fifth Major League game, six years ago:

DO watch it to the end, there are multiple replays from different camera angles, and the ones at the end are the best. I've never seen a better throw by someone not name Bo Jackson.

Ramon's overall offensive numbers don't stand out, but he has some power, some speed, a cannon for an arm, and for Philip, he's a Dominican.

By the way, ex-Jay Robert Osuna is doing really well, playing in both the Mexican and Japanese Leagues at different times of the year.

Rubenstein may not deserve credit for the Orioles turnaround, how many 100 loss seasons did they endure prior to this year?
That is what he had to do and he did it well did he not? He does not have the cash flow of the Yankees or the Jays so it was all ground up building

Thx for the vid

Earlier tonight the Boston Red Sox's Danny Jansen drove in a run against the Houston Astros' Yusei Kikuchi. Doesn't sound right, does it?

This media frenzy has totally blown this whole situation up to make it where Bo is not happy in Toronto. He commented on the San Francisco Giants being a competitive franchise with a commitment to winning and he said he wouldn’t be surprised if he was traded… everything else has been speculation and it’s very disappointing to see because this guy is an amazing hitter when he is on. It’s all rumours and he said she said.

Taking into consideration that they deal Bichette - they still need to extend Guerrero and go out and get a serious cleanup hitter this off-season. Anthony Santander or Teoscar Hernández NEEDS to happen.

The Chicago White Sox are on pace to become the worst team ever in the expansion era/ 162 game season, (1961 - present).

That distinction is currently held by the legendary '62 Mets' expansion team, who went 40 - 120, (.250 winning percentage), with two rained out games not replayed.

The 2003 Detroit Tigers made a serious run, sitting at 38-118 on September 22 after their 10th consecutive defeat, but they rallied to win five of their last six to finish at 43-119, including three of four from the Minnesota Twins, who had previously clinched the AL Central Division.

The 2024 Chisox have a 30-97 record, (.236 winning percentage), with 25 to play.

Since the All-Star Break, the team has gone 3-26, (.068 pct), which would translate to 140 games below .500 over a full season, (11-141). This includes 17 consecutive losses immediately after the Break, following 4 consecutive immediately before.

In the 'Modern Era', (since 1901), two teams have actually been worse than the '62 Mets: the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, (36-117, one game not played, .235 pct), and the 1935 Boston Braves, (38-115, one game not played, .248 pct).

The Philly A's had won the American League Pennant in four of the previous six seasons, (1910, '11, '13 and '14), and all but the '14 squad had also been World Series Champions, but penny-pinching owner Connie Mack sold most of his stars after the A's were swept in the 1914 World Series, and most of the rest of his talent bolted for the newly-formed Federal League, a third Major League which lasted for two seasons, (1914-15).

The only thing notable about the 1935 Boston Braves is the presence of Babe Ruth on the team from Opening Day through May 30, before The 40 year old Ruth was released. Ruth went 3-4 with 3 HRs and 6 RBIs on May 25, 1935 in an 11-7 loss, (his last Major League hits and homers), but that one game accounted for exactly half of his 1935 HR/RBI production.

Philip, you're still thinking about band-aid solutions for a terminally ill patient.

The team is old, most of the talent is declining, and the farm is barren. The team can't rebuild around one star locked in long term, and they can't rebuild while they're still stuck with George Springer's contract through 2026. Extending Guerrero would guarantee many consecutive years of mediocrity.

The Jays SHOULD trade Bichette, Gausman, Bassitt AND Guerrero, in the off season, (as opposed to at next year's deadline), for blue chip prospects who won't be ready for the Majors before the end of 2026, at the earliest. They should also expect to be bottom feeders for a few seasons after that. They should also try to acquire free agents in 2025 and 2026 solely for the purpose of trading them to acquire younger, cheap talent, not yet ready for The Show.

If they follow THIS plan, they have a chance to have a competitive window beginning in 2027. They NEED to have a lot of young talent, controllable and under-priced, (like the Baltimore Orioles), and THEN they can overspend on free agents to fill the rest of the salary budget. If you have a young, cheap core, free agents show interest in joining your organization. Otherwise you get the guys who lost the 'musical chairs' game because every team looking to spend will have already spent on someone else.

Having said that, I fully expect the Jays to extend Guerrero, and to wait until next year's deadline before moving Gausman and Bassitt, actively promoting an 'Inclusive' environment where casual fans can see a home win every so often for a good chunk of their entertainment budget, while using smoke and mirrors to con the naive fans into thinking that the 2025 team has a realistic chance to go any higher than 10th place in the AL.

Trade Bo sooner than later!
I agree with this. We should bring up the AAA guys who actually want to be here (e.g. Wagner) and get them their playing time so they develop. But at the moment if we trade Bo it is highly likely we will not get a good return. He might have a stronger trade value going into the 2025 season near the trade deadline if he can stay healthy.

I never liked BO. I thought he looked clownish. But as well he cost us the playoff in 2022. He has this bad habit of chasing down balls that are behind him, and his teammates cannot call him off.... He did that many time in 2022 until he fucking injured Springer in the playoffs. And lastly I sense he is PED user.

The Jays lost 109 games in 1979, if you trade Vladdy they will challenge that heinous record. To quote The Noble George Costanza, "we needed a leader, someone to lead the way". That's what Vlady is doing, without him the young players would lose focus, attendance would tank.

However Shatniks should not be the ones deciding the Jays future. Whatever Bo and Davis Schneider are going through, they would get motivated in a hurry if Shatkins were shitcaned pronto! Fred Ward says, fuckin A Bubba.

It’s pretty sad that it really comes down to the favouritism of Ross Atkins. Mark Shapiro has such a stranglehold on this organization. But I have to admit Bo does play like a sucky. It’s actually horrible for team chemistry and it makes him a horrible teammate.

I agree with keeping Guerrero 1000%. We have to. And we have to develop and retool at the same time. You do not have to gut the whole thing in order to remain competitive. And boo-hoo if Rogers needs to increase their budget to 260 million….. we need pieces go out and get them now.
