I doubt Shohei Ohtani would have saved the season.

But it would have stopped the Jays from rebuilding which is what they are now forced to do and without his billion dollar contract
in the way

We can now watch the Jays mess up a rebuild by doing things halfway pretending they can contend next year
by contending for a WC

If the Jays are going to sell off and rebuild, they might as well keep Schneider for the next couple of years as managerial cannon fodder.

They have no choice at this point. Almost impossible for them to make a wild card spot, and even if they do, it's clear they couldn't go deep in the playoffs anyway.

Attendance will start falling off drastically as the year goes along, so might as well start it now. The big issue is will Rogers fire these guys or give them a chance for a whole new rebuild.

The Wankees are such cheese eaters. Brandon Hyde is heroic in defense of his players.

As for the Jays rebuiliding, do you trust Jethro Atkins?

The bad news is, the Jays have only 13 games left against teams with worse records than theirs, and seven of those are against the Angels, who might have Mike Trout back by then.

The longer they hold onto expiring contracts, the less they will receive in return for dealing them.

Conversely, it also means that they can make up more ground more quickly by beating the teams ahead of them. (Good luck with that, though.)

I hope Philip does not see this:

We do need him back. WIth the way he is playing, why would he want to come back? He has also been selected as a 2024 All star. Philip, you were right. The Jays should have signed him last off season. He won't be back unless we offer some serious money.

Sure, the Blue Jays COULD still make the post season, and surprise everyone by winning it all... if life was a Disney movie. Realistically, they could move up in the AL standings and pass Detroit and/ or Tampa Bay, which would ensure that they drop a few spots in next year's Amateur Draft.

Enough with Teo, he's not coming back to Toronto.

Rasclat Atkins could get a contract extension. Even if he leaves do you trust Bumboclat Shapero to hire a competent GM? He's beginning to look like Richard Peddie 2.0.

Will Rasclat Atkins surpass Pat Gillick's tenure as GM of the Jays?

He was sitting as a free agent for many weeks until he finally agreed to a one year with the Dodgers. He’s only hit 100 RBIs once in his career but he’s also had a few injuries and there’s also the pandemic season to consider… but when you look at the ratio for the most part except for 2023 of at bats versus the run production… he’s always looking like to be on average of a 100+ guy. Hernandez is a special hitter. To trade that power threat in the lineup for a relief pitcher was absolutely ludicrous to me from day one. I posted about that here immediately and it’s bothered me ever since.

Guerrero even gave him a gift after the derby of his Toronto jersey and that’s truly sickening. But hey at least he’s the first dodger to ever win the derby…. He’s a free agent in the office season they will be beautiful if we could bring him back on a four year deal. Him and Guerrero have a good connection and it would be beautiful to have them both once again. Let Vladimir develop with his big brother by his side. And Vladimir needs to start chewing that thing he was chewing in good rhythm. When he was on that hot streak he was constantly chewing something. Tobacco or gum or whatever that was…
