Vlady is going to walk.
IMHO, they are going to sign him. It would be an absolute PR disaster.

Although I do see a scenario where Shatkins adopts a scorched earth approach if the season is going badly and they want to totally fuck whomever takes over.

First EE. Then Teo and Lourdes. There's something about right handed power that Shatkins just don't seem to understand
I think (not sure his age) EE may have been on the downside of his career. But Teo and Lourdes were in their primes and Moreno was an unproven top prospect, and Kirk had had no more than 1/2 of a good season.

This trade will NOT be studied.

Shack you're seeing my pov, Vlady has no incentive to sign with the Jays. He'll get paid and he wont be playing on artificial turf. Horrible move by Ed Rogers allowing the Shatniks to stay, the team will be decimated.

Teo just cranked a grand slam.
I kind of forgot about him for a bit… now I love him all over again lol. He definitely shows up in the playoffs. He might kick the ball around a little bit in the outfield, but then he hits a grand slam better than a breakfast at Denny’s.

The Blue Jays' offseason is off to a poor start and it hasn't even officially begun (jaysjournal.com)
Yusei Kikuchi suggests he’s interested in a reunion, but not with the Blue Jays (jaysjournal.com)
Blue Jays Rumors: Close Juan Soto source hints at massive offer from Toronto (jaysjournal.com)

The last one is a doozy. It looks like Shatkins is playing the public image game again. I'd bet they are leaking this rumour to make themelves look like they're really, really trying to make the team a winner when it's all just window dressing. I bet that they'll end out being an agonizingly close 2nd.

"Hey fans, we really tried but now it's too late to get any other of the significant free agents so we'll just sign some of the retreads. But that's because we really like our team. We believe that the young guys we brought last year are really ready to carry the load and take us to being a contender. It's a process. Blue Jays to the Core."

If the Jays offer enough, I think Guerrero will stay. If he's getting $35 Million+ guaranteed for the rest of his career, I think he'd gladly have Octobers off, every year.

What many people don't understand is that the Blue Jays are not on a level playing field when it comes to signing elite free agents. The artificial turf field works against them for career longevity. Playing in a foreign country works against them for player endorsements and media visibility. Every year there will be more Red Sox - Yankees games with a US National broadcast than there will be any games involving the Blue Jays.

To sign A level free agents, the Jays have to offer more guaranteed years and/ or a higher annual salary than the competition, and they usually have to gamble on players with health question marks associated with them.

This wouldn't be a problem if the Jays had some young, controllable stars earning under $2 million per year. The farm system has produced several players who would be good bench players on a contending team. Except for Jimenez, none of them are adept in the field, none are young by rookie standards, and most of them are best suited playing first base or DH, a spot where the Jays already have talent.

Like they did with George Springer a few years back. And, George certainly found his fill of endorsements here in Canada.

Please remove this before Philip sees it.
I watched it live. I think yesterday’s homer plus the grand slam he hit in the series, would probably have made him the MVP of the series. Teo should have been a Blue Jay for the rest of his life. I cringe at those that say “his defence sucks“ or the ever popular “he strikes out 200 times a year.” The sad part is I do not anticipate the Jays to sign him this off-season because that would literally be admitting a mistake that they made in the first place by trading him for a goddamn relief pitcher. Like I said from day one after the trade, relief pitchers are a dime a dozen. Sluggers like Hernandez do not grow on trees. The Toronto Blue Jays trading this man was so unbelievably stupid.

Teo's playoff stats so far

Probably better than Judge and Ohtani put together lol. If he continues on this production pace for the rest of these playoffs, he may very well get a $100 million contract this off-season. Good for him! He deserves it. I’m kind of excited for the fact that it’s going to be either the Mets or the Dodgers in the World Series. Let’s hope the Yankees can get there and this is going to be incredible. Great baseball to watch.

I would call them the “Cleveland clowns” as the media in Toronto does, but I actually like Cleveland and to call these two bozos that name would be an insult to that city. This past summer I had an unbelievably incredible dealing with a few people from Cleveland and I have so much respect for everything about that city.
