It's not proof, it's a line in an article that doesn't even specifically state that these were guns that they purchased through legal channels. Which doesn't matter anyways, because they broke the law by attempting an armed robbery. Everything you're inferring is just that, speculation.

They broke the law no matter what, as they attempted to rob a bank and did so but could not get away. Using these guns for this cause was illegal and then carrying out mass murders means they broke several laws. You are the one that was speculating that they were not legal gun owners when their family legally purchased the guns. Also one of the brothers went on a military drill to try and enrol in the army but was rejected. So he probably also had a permit to use such guns!!
