BTW, the original Star Trek is being rebroadcast with new revamped special effects. I hope no one is missing those as it makes the shows 50 times better now!! This week it's "The City on the Edge of Forever". "I Mudd" and "Arena" are coming up next week and the week after that.scouser1 said:....remember the original Star Trek was used by Roddenberry to make all sorts of statements on the political and social climate of the US during the 1960's

My name was before the "new" Battlestar Galactica was even a concept. So completely spelt right, it's the other way 'round. "Gaius" is not correct, but being used. I represent Caprica and each colony has their own VP. Sorry, the old bag is still seeing snakes.freshbreath said:president of the colonies, not just caprica

I watched with several friends, including one person that had not seen season 1 or 2 and had no idea what the show was about. Everyone caught the irony of rooting for the humans, when they are clearly the "Iraq" part of what is going on in the world at the moment.scouser1 said:what a frakking great episode and I am surprised no one has jumped on the writers for making all sorts of links to present day political events, ie occupation, suicide bombings, establishment of a police force by the occupiers, insurgents etc.... remember the original Star Trek was used by Roddenberry to make all sorts of statements on the political and social climate of the US during the 1960's
