I generally find it enlightening to get the SP point of view on matters. I am surprised here though at the total disregard for a hobbyist's desire for privacy. It is a very real issue and just because one SP is trustworthy the practice of giving out identifying information is not likely to end well. This should be understood, and does not negate the SP's desire for authentication. Both sides have their own concerns. An SP can demand information and a hobbyist can be quite right in not providing it. And an e-transfer? Sure, as soon as you buy my swampland in Florida.
I'm also surprised at the assumption that only the ladies are in danger. If one is at all familiar with this industry, even a little bit, than you know it is an enormous risk for hobbyists. Not just legally, or of being outed to family, but also being ripped off and even personal safety. I know of an incident in Ottawa where the incall to a decent hotel resulted in a thug being let in by the girl and the john tied up and beaten until he gave up his pins for his cards. Again because of privacy concerns many of these incidents are not reported. Alma you clearly can't empathise with the john walking into a hotel room looking over his shoulder and around corners while trying to feel at ease. Having regulars helps, but if we all wanted the same partner all the time we probably wouldn't be here.
Lastly on this topic, both sides stand to gain by a pic verifying process. Rather hobbyists and legitimate providers gain, but the scammers stealing your business and our money lose.
I choose a provider not only by good reviews, but also by whatever look I'm in the mood for. When a pic search reveals they are fakes, how would I know if I'm gonna be attracted to whoever opens the door? Maybe a video phone # sign proof is 99% reliable, and a pic phone # sign proof is 80%, and a refusal to provide either is <50%. Not sure of a web sites verification process if pics can be swapped later. It benefits both sides if we have as much confidence as possible before investing the time and money. That's good for your business if you are legit, and good for your business if half our money isn't going to fakers. Speaking personally, yes it is that high.
I don't have the answers, just pointing out that the hobbyists concerns are valid too, and you'd no doubt profit by understanding them.
