PEI was the host and losing in the semis and they didn't take it well...it was a tough game and then this clown from PEI maliciously runs the goalie and punches him in the head...

I think Alberta was sending a message to PEI of "Go fuck yourself, you guys suck"...

The University of Prince Edward Island coach is defending the team’s actions, after the University of Alberta team skated off the ice without handshakes at the U Sports Men’s Hockey National Championship in Charlottetown.

I can see the Alberta coach's point of view. He was concerned for his players safety. With PEI out of contention for the championship, they could have easily started fighting in the lineup after the game. It reminds me a bit of the "Punchup in Piestany" c. 1987. The Russians juniors were out of contention for a medal so they suckered the Canadian junior players into a brawl. Canada was looking good for a medal, but the brawl put an end to that.
