Why didn't this happen in China? Think back to the video of the kid on the beach in FL saying, in so many words, "I waited all semester to come down here to hook up and no consideration for the health of others is going to stop me!" If that had been broadcast in China he would have been in the back of a van on the way to a camp within hours...
The Chinese took the lockdown seriously and avoided being Florida, at least so far...

Florida, Texas, Arizona and other southern states are in the position Spain and Italy was in in March.

So many Americans are selfish and powered by greed.

Italy has an stellar healthcare system that is free. And it nearly collapse. A very long and serious lock-down prevented that. Will these states be able to prevent that?

So, what's the mortality rate for the latest cases?

So you mean that any medical issues short of death are acceptable? Why not wait for 14 days following the spike and ask your question then. Hopefully the rate is low but as usual the stable genius is trying to whitewash a very serious problem. Sad.

Ok. Here's an easy one: what's the infection rate?

According to the CDC, only 14.6% of the inpatient beds in Florida are occupied by Covid19 patients.

Only 69.7% of ICU beds are occupied by ALL patients. For comparison, Pennsylvania which has only 3.9% Covid19 inpatients - has a current rate of 61.2% ICU beds occupied.

These are the official numbers, not the liberal media fake news numbers.

It's now 56 Florida's ICU at very near top capacity. Once that capacity is reached tough decision will follow. Letting people in their 70's dies 10-15 years ahead of their time.

Sad to think so many people in the USA are stupid enough to reach this level.

Anyhow the US is in deep shit right now and some states might have to go back to confinement. These state said Coronavirus Cure Cannot ‘Be Worse Than the Problem Itself‘. Well now it looks like for these states the problem will be worst then the problem itself.

If by infection rate you mean the positivity rate it is @21. Nearly 10K new cases today. 48 additional deaths. Yea everything under control.
No.

Not true, either. Every county in Florida has at least one LTCF designated for the COVID seniors. If a senior in a "clean" facility is diagnosed with the virus, if they don't require hospital stay, they are moved into quarantine.

jcpro my point is many will die ahead of their time because of the current situation. Most in the 70+ range. When an ICU runs out of capacity your LTCF won't save them.

If Trumpet and the governors would have had a brain they would have followed what other country did to put the pandemic under some control like here in Canada and European country.

You do realize that the Florida governors office has stated they are not publishing hospital data right?

Maybe if you actually listened to some news and to the words of governer desantis himself you wouldn’t be a trump sheep who immaturely shouts fake news, fake news all the time.

Google — Florida not publishing statewide hospitalization stats for covid. You will find direct quotes from desantis himself on this topic and statements from the governors office on the natter.

Individual counties can still publish info but they are not consolidating it at a state level — which is why I am sure the cdc info is whacked because it pulls from state data.

But I am sure all the info out there is all fake, and statements from governors office are fake news.
