Agree. No way we should trade Gurriel. 3 more years at a combined 15 mill. Teoscar could also regress, that's true. Grich is better defensively, but Teoscar looked like something "clicked" at the plate, last year.
By MLB standards, 10 mill isn't too bad for what Grich provides. We can't keep one of the extra 3 outfielders for a DH as our DH spot full with Rowdy/Vlad.
Purely speculation. Why go into the season with an OF where 1 of Gurriel, Grich or Teoscar will be benched?
You risk Grichuk regressing to his career mean coming off of a good season. Trade him while his value is high
I may be going a bit off topic but I can see Doughty & Weber getting in at the end of their careers, debatable if they stopped now.
I can see Corey Perry getting in (again, maybe not yet, but by career conclusion). As well as Rick Nash (if dominant for another 4-6 yrs).
It's possible we see a 300 win guy, just not very probable. As much as I loved watching Doc take the mound every 5th day, I couldn't help but think that if he only pitched his whole career for the yanks or Red Sox he probably would've reached 300. I felt bad for the guy because he lost a ton of...
I like the coach and we have some decent players. If Bargnani is healthy for the full season, we shouldn't do worse than last year. That being said, were nowhere near a .500 team. Realistically, we all know it's coming down to the Bulls/Heat in the east & the Lakers/Thunder/Spurs(maybe).
