What kind of machines do people use? I am looking to move to grinding beans myself, hoping to avoid a lot of mess though.
A coffee machine that grinds beans for itself would be nice.
I avoid as many 2in1 things in life as I can. I learned this the hard way when I bought a TV/VCR/DVD combo back in the day. When one breaks, the other is doomed or shortly next.

I will say pour over is probably my favourite but its got a few steps and is single use. I had all of the novelty coffee makers in the past (Keurig, Tassimo, Nespresso) and they are not good. Not only is it heating and leeching shitty plastics up into your body its just crappy old coffee repurposes for convenience. Im a firm believer in starting mornings off with nice rituals to have a better day, personally.
Here is a budget friendly drip coffee machine I recommend:
If I was starting out id just get the Zourishi and ask my local roastry to grind it for drip coffee right now. Good burr grinders can be pricey. I would then think about getting a moka pot for making espressos. You can find moka pots/french presses fairly inexprensive on amazon.
My $00.02. If you want to chat more DM me I love this stuff (clearly) lol
