"War is counterproductive for two countries with economic ties" is a banal observation though.It does a pretty good job of explaining why despite the occasional tough talk, no western country is willing to piss off China.
War is counterproductive in general, after all.
Countries are entangled in all kinds of ways and yes, obviously, that affects the calculus of what it takes to set them to war.
If that's all he is saying, then good, he said something so simple that even he didn't fuck it up. But again, why listen to someone who is only right when he is saying something even a child understands?
