Unfortunately I think this summer is going to like normal. Every weekend Clifton Hill and the Parkway will be jammed packed as usual. People are tired of being cooped up at home.I'd give my vote to Grand Bend.
Owen Sound is pretty nice as well!
Don't come to Niagara, I'm getting used to small amount of tourists we had in 2020. Let the locals enjoy it.

I live in Niagara aswell. I avoid all tourist areas like the plague on long weekends.
Tobermory, Muskoka, Kawartha Lakes...I love how even in warmer weather, Lakes and rivers up north has a cool feel to it...my favorite is Algonquin provincial park...
Love it, but the North Channel and Lake Superior have even better sailing and way more secluded coves....
I'd drive 30 minutes further north to selwyn shores, burleigh falls or lakefield...more laid back vibe and amazing community.
The only reason that they can get away with being overpriced is because many people rate it highly and flock there.
It'll be jammed all right, with security making sure people maintain their distance. And no Americans coming either.
not really familiar with Ptbo...I usually just pass going through bancroft during the summers. Like i said, haliburton or anywhere up north is great.
Peterborough has fallen a long ways from the glory years when CGE employed 6,000 people and OMC had a factory there with 2,000 workers - this in a City with a population at the time of around 55,000. Both factories have been gone for a while. Most recently Peterborough's claim to fame is having the highest methadone use in Ontario.
But the cottage country of the Kawartha's to the north is beautiful and Kawartha Highlands is the largest Provincial Park in Southern Ontario after Algonquin Park.
And the Petroglyphs Provincial Park is an interesting place to visit as well. Long, long ago you used to be able to actually walk across the rocks to look at cravings - now they are (rightfully so) enclosed in a climate controlled building and can only be viewed from a distance.

That place has to be the nastiest strip club I have ever been in.
It will be flooded with people from the GTA and Peel.
Security was nowhere to be found last year. Plus there is way to many people to do an effective job.
My most memorable sunsets have been along the shore on the way to T-Bay
Prinyer Cove isn't all that secluded, but is nice, so is just west of Waupoos Island.
Damn... You guys have depressed me about Peterborough. It has been quite a number of years...

True. Some of the best in Ontario. Unfortunately there are very few good hotels, and absolutely no good restaurants along the North Shore.My most memorable sunsets have been along the shore on the way to T-Bay
Thunder Bay is slightly better, but not much.
