Their dog was found alongside them, gotta be gas leak or perhaps suicides by gas.

Not sure about real life with dogs at night. They like the smell of poop when it comes to other dogs and animals. Whereas a cat wants to cover it up with litter.
Of course, many fatal gases have little or no smell with better technology now.

I check chatGPT. And yes dogs can detect gas leaks. Either a suicide or they ignored the dog's warning...
p.s. Yeah, dogs are strange. When I bring mine to the dog park there are usually 5-6 other dogs there and first thing they do is what we call 'the round'... They sniff each other's ass before starting to play. Can you imagine if humans would do that?
