CP24 reports that of the 17 arrested, 6 were already out on bail conditions or other forms of release when they were arrested, including one who was on parole for armed robbery and discharging a gun. 4 others have existing firearm prohibitions, and 7 have since been released on bail.

Must be so frustrating for cops with our “Catch and Release” system. We need REAL CHANGE to our bail system to stop this insanity. The criminals are literally laughing at us.

The " criminal justice system " is a business, a massive industry actually, with countless billions of dollars churning and endless big bucks jobs involved. No one is rockin` that boat. Take a look at those 17 criminal assholes, does anyone really think there is any reform or restorative justice possible? Real justice would be actual life in prison or a bullet in the head.. Canada, as always, soft on crime, pathetic, weak and shameful.

My guess is that they were oxycodone fakes. Probably a synthetic opioid in the nitazenes category.

It's truly out of control. They have no regard for human life. Piece of shit thugs who know that if they're caught, they'll be released on bail the very next day. Even if they're caught with an illegal firearm.

But our virtual signaling Prime Minister, with his long-gun ban, which will do nothing towards increasing public safety, thinks he's on the right track. Here's a thought, how about putting all that money wasted on the gun ban into keeping violent criminals off the streets. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. I'm really tired of this incompetent government. I hope Poilievre has some balls to do the right thing. God knows, our current "feminist" Prime Minister doesn't have any.
