does over whelmed and in a panic situation sound like an accusation of lying?
This has nothing to do with what I was responding to.
You are speaking out of context.
Heathcare professionals know what to advice the public when there is a pandemic.(This is the original topic of discussion with Jublee).

They can.
If there was social distancing, masking and lockdowns.
Experts have weighed in that it was because of those measures that Flu deaths were also reduced.
You have absolutely zero evidence of Flu deaths being misclassified.
So while you vociferously proclaim that you cannot apply significance to something that is unknown, you simultaneously proclaim with certainty that Flu deaths were misclassified despite experts explaining why deaths due to Flu were low.
Your reasoning does not follow.
social distancing, masking and lockdowns stopped the flu but allowed covid deaths to peak during the same period ?

seriously?
that sounds like social distancing, masking and lockdowns were not accomplishing their intended objective
you really should not go down that path

experts ?
Whatever happened to Dr Fauci and Dr. Tam ?

Those methods reduced both Flu and COVID deaths.
COVID deaths "peaking" is just the maximum number of deaths a particular variant was observed to have caused.
That would have been much worse, more people would have gotten sick and died, without social distancing, masking and lockdowns.

you injected the word lying not me.
you set the context
up until that point i had never suspected anything nefarious, just overwhelmed people making human errors in a panic situation

Heathcare professionals know what to advice the public when there is a pandemic.(This is the original topic of discussion with Jublee).
hardly, it was a shit show
you already admitted
Medical professionals were overwhelmed by the number of cases?. Sure.

I did not set the context you think I set.
You are inserting yourself into a conversation with someone else, so atleast stick to the topic.
The topic is "COVID advice such as social distancing and masking provided by health professionals during the pandemic".
This is unrelated to hospitals being overwhelmed with COVID patients.

sure you did, you injected the concept that officials were possibly lying into the conversation
it had not occurred to me, until then

do you think get to control context once you let the cat out of the bag?
You were not responding to the topic that was under discussion.

Hospitals in Toronto were not overwhelmed with COVID patients.

Got friendly with an individual at Toronto Western who worked in administration..This person was giving me updates of how many people were hospitals in the University Health Network with COVID...The numbers were very small.

you do not get to ring fence the discussion
i see this time and time again with the lefties
it happens when they run out of factual information and logical arguments

you injected the concept that officials were possibly lying into the conversation
it had not occurred to me, until then

do you think get to control context once you let the cat out of the bag?

In other words you are seeing it all the time because you are trying to move goalposts all the time.
A discussion or a debate is always bound by the topic under discussion or debate.
Your responses are unrelated to the topic.

nope i have been quite consistant
80% of flu deaths just do not vanish and coincidentally during the same period as covid death spiked
if they misclassed flu deaths , how many of the 3,000,000 old folk deaths were misclassified?
as as you agreed " Medical professionals were overwhelmed by the number of cases?. Sure."
an unknown quantity of covid deaths were misclassified it hangs together
the covid vaccine was fast tracked and my concerns were justified

says the one who is fresh out of factual argument

A discussion is never bound.. WTF what is with lefties and their need to exert control over others

Your responses are unrelated to the topic.
you inject the lying concept

slow down and think carefully

You seem discombobulated.
The discussion I was having with Jublee had nothing to do with Covid deaths.
You inserted yourself into that conversation out of context.
I am discussing covid numbers with you.
I am discussing covid advice by healthcare professionals with jublee.
Am happy to discuss both or pick what you want to discuss.
But you need to stop jumping from one topic to another in completely unrelated responses while resorting to childish repetition.
So address each topic in their appropriate threads so I can respond properly.
I start talking about covid measures and here you are talking about covid and flu death numbers.
I think you have stopped tracking.

Hospitals in Toronto were not overwhelmed with COVID patients.

Got friendly with an individual at Toronto Western who worked in administration..This person was giving me updates of how many people were hospitals in the University Health Network with COVID...The numbers were very small.
The person seems remarkably ill-informed. UHN was opening tent field hospitals.

April 2021

Dr. Brown said around 700 COVID-19 patients were in intensive care on Friday – a level that he said compromises the care of all patients in the province. Regardless of any further public-health restrictions, the science table’s modelling data show that number will exceed 800 over the next two weeks, and reach nearly 1,000 in two or three weeks.

“It’s not clear that all those patients would ever be able to enter an intensive unit bed, even with the heroic efforts going on across the province to increase capacity right now,” Dr. Brown said.

At Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a field hospital, or mobile health unit, is preparing to open some of its 84 beds next week. That facility, which can be expanded to 100 beds, will be for patients who are recovering or have recovered from COVID-19, said Debra Carew, in charge of clinical operations of the field hospital.

Similarly, a field hospital that will house 80 hospital beds is under construction in a parking lot near Hamilton General Hospital and expected to be ready for patients next month, according to Hamilton Health Sciences.

Meanwhile, at the University Health Network, tents are being set up, one at Toronto Western Hospital and one at Toronto General Hospital, to accommodate an influx of patients seeking emergency care, allowing them to physically distance while they wait.

“We’re seeing a lot of patients – a lot of patients with COVID, a lot of sick patients – and we are redeploying staff to areas of need and doing the best we can to work with the resources that we have,” said Erin O’Connor, deputy chief of emergency medicine at UHN. “It’s exhausting.”

just like you're making assumptions it would've been bigger without the lockdowns...
I don't think I actually made that definitive declaration. If I did, I'd be wrong.

I am arguing that your definitive declaration of all the precautions/lockdowns blah, blah, blah made no difference are wrong in terms of there is no way to prove it. As such, you cannot be so sure.

You would need 2 sets of people of equal ages and levels of health, one using precautions and the other not, then exposing them to EXACTLY IDENTICAL conditions (such as exposure to the same people) over an extended period of time and check the results to see if one group or the other did better. Of course, such an experiment would be impossible to conduct. As such, definitive declarations such as yours are nothing more than speculation, your opinion. That is what my argument is.

I do believe that lockdowns, masks, distancing made a difference but I can't prove it and I can't declare that I'm correct. But simple logic (doing things to avoid exposure to the virus would reduce spread) tells us that preventive measures were most likely effective/prudent.

Flu is an ongoing pandemic...influenza shots are tested and proven...COVID shots are questionable but let's sure take it anyway out of precautions...the rest of the mandates have no scientific basis.... mask lockdowns social distancing...you will get it...people still die of flu despite the flu shots...
