Its a satellite system, all you need are the boxes.
You need buy the hardware, install it, pay for the service etc.,
Also what is the length of the contract?
Is DoFo giving all of Ontario free internet now?
Is he going to pay their monthly fees but not ours?
Why waste $100 million when you could just subsidize or just buy the boxes outright?
Or why have anything to do with Musk?

100M for 15,000 rural communities is justified based on what internet can do for them.
There are costs and contracts.
What are those details before you say 100M is too much?
You can buy the starlink box for $500 and get subscriptions already.

It is likely the 100M is for several years.
It isnt as simple as a residential install.
I just want to see the math. I'm not against getting everyone online, but as mentioned Starlink satellites already cover almost ALL of Ontario. The articles say the hardware is covered but not monthly fees. So... as already asked, where's the other $92.5 million? Unless the rest is to get MORE satellites up for full coverage... but I don't see that mentioned anywhere.
And I don't trust Ford as far as I could throw him. I just want someone to explain the full cost. Full transparency pls.

Nah the money would've been better spent on cheap paint that transitions roads into bike lanes.
A quarter of that was spent to create a traffic mess on Bloor street for stupid bike lanes. Show me 15,000 people in Toronto using those stupid bike lanes.
yes, he should have spend the 100 mil on building bike lanes in those northern communities instead of connecting them to the modern world via internet
if Chow is saying that it will cost almost 50 mill to take down bike lanes from 3 major streets
I'm sure the city spend more then 100 mil on building all those stupid bike lanes all across the city and they were getting ready to build a lot more until Ford put a stop to it
