Wyatt, watch your misleader making a fool of himself at the Economic Club. This is in your wheelhouse no, economic issues?? There are points when the crowd is laughing at him, NOT with him but at him.
I'm fairly agnostic when it comes to most tariffs. It's kind of like when a Supreme Court Justice was asked to define obscenity and responded "I know it when I see it". So with that, I'll know a bad tariff when I see it.Wyatt, watch your misleader making a fool of himself at the Economic Club. This is in your wheelhouse no, economic issues?? I think the problem is that Barack Obama was the last Democrat to lead their own campaign. I think it would be very helpful for a Democrat to emerge in 2028 that has their own voice and can define their own positions.First, she's not bright enough to run a campaign.
Yet most bipartisan economic think tanks and economists believe Trump's stated policies will possibly bring a recession along and raise the deficit to a higher level, in Trump's lingo "like never seen before".I'm fairly agnostic when it comes to most tariffs. Tariffs have a lot of mythology built around them, but the economic theories never anticipated giant mercantilist countries (China, Germany, etc.) relying heavily on enormous and chronic trade surpluses to drive their economies.
It should be no surprise that Wall Street and specific multinationals oppose tariffs. However, the last couple months the free trade leaning Wall Street Journal has allowed some varying thought on the matter.
Even the inflation argument mostly ignores that tariffs without allowing for any shift to domestic production is merely a consumption tax. You know like your Goods & Services Tax. Taxes in aggregate are fungible. So you could raise one tax and lower another.
If you want to have a healthy discussion free of politics and media spin, I would welcome it. I'm afraid that with the election weeks away it would be very hard.
Recession is coming no matter what. Neither candidate is going to affect that.Yet most bipartisan economic think tanks and economists believe Trump's stated policies will possibly bring a recession along and raise the deficit to a higher level, in Trump's lingo "like never seen before".
