Canadian women's soccer team head coach Bev Priestman has removed herself from Thursday's 2024 Paris Games debut against New Zealand because of a drone incident earlier this week, the Canadian Olympic Committee announced Wednesday.

2 coaches sent back home. Bev voluntarily stepped back for that first game. They just gave all the opportunity to New Zealand to upset them. A game they should have won easily.

For a coach i don’t know why doing that. You prepare your team according to your roaster.

Canada has probably the best defensive of all team. It’s in the midfield and attack that they have problems. They won gold 4 years ago out of their defence. Didn’t work at the WC.

Saw an interview with Janine Becky on TSN.

My feeling is after the game tomorrow she and Fleming might ask Bev to step aside for good. As players they don’t have the power to force that but they have the power of the team.

Other teams have been doing it, Canada just got caught. Just like when Ben Johnson won the gold in 100M, every sprinter was cheating (dopping), Ben just got caught.

As i wrote before i really suspect Beckie and Fleming spoke to have Bev removed for good.

As players they have worked a lot to be there. They know that even if Bev probably never asked for these drone spying she didn’t stop them.

Beckie has now a lot of experience both as a player and in the media. Having also lead the effort to get equitable compensation as the men’s team for international play.

It was a good win yesterday. Should have been a 4-1 win or something but i guess the whole thing fired up new zealand.
