Trump is not part of a political shift to the right nor to the far-right.
He is part of a shift from the radical left back to the centre. Most of his stances would have been considered left of centre 15-20 years ago.
And it's why the cries of "Orange man is a Nazi" have fallen flat.
The entire political leadership and social paradigm has made a shift to the far-left over the past decade. It's socially stifling, economically nonviable, anti-science, insufferably partisan, nonacademic, and undemocratic.

The world is too soft. I just got off a briefing with the Secret Service and FBI. I am appalled to learn that the Secret Service knew about a threat prior to President Trump walking on stage. I have no confidence in the leadership of Director Cheatle and believe it is in the best interest of our nation if she steps down from her position.
