I think you misunderstood, having large sums of cash can be nerve-wracking and not always easy to dispose of. Especially now when cash is rarely used. I go months with cash in my wallet.
I go to in person auctions, flea markets, and garage sales, and cash is always welcome, and sometimes a must.
Maybe not as common as it once was, but I have no problem paying in cash for:
Some or all of the weekly groceries.
Beer store and liquor store transactions.
Fill the car at the gas pumps and pay with cash.
For sure pay for home cleaning.
Likely welcome at barbers and hair salons, nail spas, etc.
Independent auto service and CTC are happy to take cash for car maintenance expenses.
When too much cash piled up in my household for my liking after a few very good months of beer can returns from a rec league arena operation, I used it to pay my CTC Mastercard account.
Go to the customer service desk of any CTC.
Hand over your card and the cash. In my case $2000 on month, $1500 another month.
Clerk will have to get manager to be the second person to verify the cash count.
You get a receipt and balance updates in less than a day.
And of course at the strip club VIP is always a cash only transaction.
