If you belong to the sheeple who voted for Trudeau to save our climate you
better vote against Chrystia Freeland like she is the plague. Steven Guilbeault was
under her evil influence in making the decision to approve the deep water oil
drilling project offshore Newfoundland. Freeland is going to be worse than
Trudeau as our climate leader.
100 million people in the US were told to stay indoors because it was so hot it was dangerous.
Congrats on all your successes.

One of them believes that Justin is a leader. Enough said.
The other believes that firing the Bank of Canada CEO will magically make inflation go away...........Printing Money causes inflation. Maybe he thinks that the money grows on trees. Enough said. ROTFLMAO!!

Mad Magazines were usually worth a read. CTV.ca, not so much, even taking into account this particular article.

I miss Mad Magazine, and I don't think that TikTok or any of the other social media "entertainment" apps even come remotely close to providing today's younger person anything similar. These are lean times for comedy.
What? Me worry?

I honestly cannot see Trudeau running again in 2025. At least I hope he doesn't. Not sure who the Liberals would put as their next leader, but Chrystia Freeland would be an excellent leader in my opinion.

I'm worried about Pierre Poilievre. He says really stupid things that are not part of reality, and there are a lot of ignorant people out there listening to him. Imagine buying into crypto when he first started spewing his BS...you'd have lost your shirt....

Basically, I want a solid PC leader, one who will stand up to his social conservative members, one that will follow traditional conservative values. Not the wing nut fringe theories that are being imported from the US....
Cannot stand Freeland to be honest. Too preachy and typically vote Liberal I think I prefer Anand. She is pretty sharp. Still Trudeau has until 2025 to see which way the wind is blowing. So that is 3.5 years. Hopefully he will allow some of his potential successors a bigger profile. His approval rating is still 40% and that is majority territory. That article really blew its credibility by mentioning Trudeau has good hair right at the start.

I agree with some other posters that Trudeau won't run again. If the agreement with the NDP holds until 2025, he will have been prime minister for 10 years. That's more than a two-term president--and he's defeated the last 3 conservative leaders, including what's-his-name.

High interest rates won't lower oil/gas prices, fix crop failure food costs or do anything about covid supply issues.
Its an old school economic solution to a different problem.

You wouldn't know the "old school economics " if you stepped in it.

Yes, because fiscal prudence requires magic. Pathetic.
The Bank of Canada has done a much better job than several other Central Banks. No wonder that Pissed Off Poilievre got a scolding from other Conservative candidates for his totally irrational remarks in this respect!!

If the federal Liberals follow tradition, the next leader will be an Anglophone.

Actually, PP was completely right about BOC dropping the ball on inflation- a sentiment repeated a month or so later(after the obligatory personal shots) by G&M and the Post. It takes no genius and plenty of past examples that printing money in the time of stagnation results in inflation. Any competent or even semi competent banker would have said- hold on a second there, bub- once the CERB was announced... and would have proceeded to raise the interest rates the very next day to mitigate the consequences. As to your wishful belief that the BOC did a better job than others- bullshit! Firstly, better than whom? And secondly, what is the REAL inflation rate once the political whoring is removed from the conversation?

CERB money had nothing to do with the rise in oil prices, climate changed food cost or covid supply issues that caused this round of inflation.

[You wouldn't know the "old school economics " if you stepped in it.
let me guess frankfooter is preaching about "modern" economic theory which ignores financial responsibility and allows for excessive govt borrowing based on the debt to GDP ratio

An unbelievable flawed theory as higher interest rates accelerate debt and compress GDP
it is a backwards looking ratio and will only shows the problem after it has occurred

frankfooter is the very last person one should counsel for economic or scientific insight

climate change induced food shortages ?

what a pile of crap

Frank is obviously a fairly intelligent guy, but his real weakness like so many left-leaners is he thinks most people are stupid and can be manipulated by leftist spin. We live in an unfortunate time where the liberal media and their partisan followers try to intersect everything with climate change and racism. The real perfecta is when they can try to simultaneously intersect an issue with both climate change and racism.
