What's the situation like right now around Club Alpha and CMJ Downtown?

Understand that there is a bit of an uncertainty on when the situation will be resolved.
Try to keep politics to a minimum. We do have a politics section and it does get endlessly crazy.
We prefer to keep the back and forth politics not to leak out into the other sections.

Was out visiting near the airport. No worries getting there, but a nightmare on the way back. Police checkpoints everywhere. A 20 minute journey took 2 hours.

Spoke with some pleasant police officers directing traffic at roadbocks. Was windy af and traffic was moving at a snail's pace because Queensway onramps and many sidestreets were closed. Had to give rationale for moving through roadbocks. Was cautioned not to go Downtown. All officers were courteous, professional, and doing their work in cold and windy conditions.

Demonstrators were standing curbside with signs in close proximity to the officers and traffic jams. Saw no hostility or negativity from anyone in spite of the delays. A Canadian response. Rolled down my window and chatted with one lady about her sign. Demonstrators looked motivated, earnest and were bearing up well in the cold and wind.

Hope this all passes soon. Let's give peace a chance 🙏 ✌

Erected fences, Barricade,Checkpoints, Cops are everywhere in DT area, Even if you live in DT area and take a Walk. You will
be asked to show ID. Even checkpoint in Centretown area at Gladstone and Bronson Ave. I were quite surprised because it is about 3 km from DT.

Patriots...

Conducted a bicycle recce patrol in the wee hours while you were dreaming about your pension plans and summers on the Riviera.

Queen and Bank Streets were open. Bicycled past barricades and the gendarmes... no horses... Sparks Street seemed to be the demarcation zone ... could go no further.

Police cars, flashing lights, stalwart and earnest constables, me pushing and probing while you nestled all snug in your beds, while visions of MA Goddesses danced in your heads.

Bicycled past the spas in the moonlight. Who could tell what memories the buildings hold? Beautiful women gliding through the halls, dazzling green eyes, broken hearts, unrequited dreams .. hopes for the future, whispered secrets ...

I have a question about getting into the secured area downtown, I'm planning on walking in and assume I'll be going past one of the checkpoints. When I'm stopped will it be sufficient to say I'm visiting "a friend" and show my ID, or will they require more of a justification?
