Just because you do not believe in conspiracies, doesn't mean that they do not exist.
You do believe that there are crooks that will rob you if given the opportunity? You do believe that there are organized groups of crooks that will rob for their benefit, like the mafia? Why do you think that crooks do not exist at the highest level? And if they do, they surly

But the crimes have to be possible and plausible. Do I think that the ENTIRE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY is engaged in screwing you and the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT has joined in to help them for no apparent reason?..... No. It's not plausible. Big Pharma has to rely on their professional reputation to avoid being sanctioned by government and blacklisted by the people. And the government has no motive to help push dangerous and ineffective remedies.
And why specifically should they work together to screw you over on this specific product?
So no. Just no.
It's good that we have general rules of thumbs about conspiracies, we can sleep soundly then.
It doesn't have to be the "ENTIRE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY" or "ENTIRE GOVERNMENT" It only has to be the people that control the media and that pull the strings of so called "elected" politicians.

I’d be keen to see if I recognize let alone would ever have a need to shop at any of the over 700 businesses participating in whatever they think this is.
Like, I’m sure if I suddenly need to buy body armour, have my palms read, or buy essential oils, I may be SOL. But are any of these businesses that are participating ones that normal people would care about?
