Great list, until you ruined it by adding Springsteen. The 5th name should have been Courtney Love or Kim Shattuck.
Maybe i'm too young (45 for the record) but I just don't understand the love for Bruce Springsteen. I remember hearing Born in the USA as a kid and not being impressed. Then I remember people saying that Steven Van Zant from Sopranos was in his band. I guess I missed the good part?
Born in the USA album was Springsteen's "Commercial album" , it made him popular world wide.
His earlier albums were his best work: "Greetings from Ashbury Park", "The Wild , the innocent and the E Street shuffle". "Born To Run", "Darkness on the Edge of Town" and "The River"
He writes songs that the common working man can relate to.
He gives the best concerts , In his prime, he gave 3 hour concerts and a 1 hour encore, that's why he is "The Boss"

I’m not a big Springsteen guy...but the last time he was at the ACC I went and enjoyed it, a three hour show in which he played his entire “The River” album and his other hits...I’d go again.
He was the best live act. The energy, the sheer joy of performing and the story telling are unmatched.
Saw an old tv special of Roy Orbison called Black and White. He had about four background guitarists playing behind him and I noticed one very young p!ayer trying to out perform the others and noticed that it was a very young Bruce Springsteen and he was great. Funny thing in that concert was there were four background female singers and I recognized one of them was a very young K D Lang, maybe in her teen years. IMHO I think she is the best canadian female singer. Her cover of Leonard Cohen's song at the B.C. olympics was amazing.

However, I think an omission is Lenny Kravitz. He first hit it big in 1989, and 31 years later, he is still is a veritable rock god.
He doesn’t look like an old man desperately trying to hang onto his youthful glory. In fact, he looks like he’s still in his 30’s and he’s still landing magazine covers.
He might not have had the sheer commercial success of some of his contemporaries, but he won multiple Grammys and did play the SuperBowl halftime show.
