I think people have to realize that like all things ”internet”, there is always a big ratio difference between those who post and those who lurk. And if you want to market properly, you market to the silent, not the vocal.
The vocal never make up the majority. Never.
For example, the majority of women who post about boards on Twitter, don’t actually represent the views of the majority of escorts on the topic. Just like the majority of men here who complain about rates, screening etc, we see first hand that they don’t make up the majority as men are paying higher rates and doing screening.
But I get the war. Women are afraid that what is posted on boards regarding things they feel can “hurt” their business and they feel the need to defend this. They can’t on TERB without being nastily torn apart and not all have the “fuck it” attitude I have.
Men are afraid that women will push a standard they don’t like in things like rates and screening, so they feel they need to defend this. They can’t on Twitter as they will get theselves banned from escorts’ accounts so they come here instead.
Now you have insta-war.
If both sides would realize that neither side is the majority and that the majority is actually the silent who enjoy this hobby on the down-lo, I don’t think there would be such a war.
I will also say, there are a few escorts who will hate boards simply because it is a platform that can and is used to call out their negative service. If they are a rushing, scamming, flakey, poor service providing escort, of course they are not going to like review boards. But even still, TERB represents less then half, I would even say less then a quarter of the actual hobby scene. Which is why these types are still able to operate on this bad business model.
