Stuck in Lodi again
They are trying to impeach Trump for doing exactly what Obama and H. Clinton did against Trump (the Steele Dossier).

And there is real dirt to be found in the Ukraine on Joe Biden and his son if the Liberal media cared to look.

Republicans are the ones that started the opposition research by Steele and his team, blame them.
But the Trump Piss dossier wasn't working with Putin, it was spying on Putin to see if there was much going on between them.

I found this more interesting than simple polling on impeachment....
Obviously true on both sides. Democrats want the Republican out and the GOP want to keep him. If the Dems were in power it would be the opposite. I'm sure if you look at the Clinton impeachment stuff, you'd find it was also broken along mainly partisan lines.

That doesn't change the fact that the President got exposed using his power to try and get dirt on his opponents and even many Republicans support an inquiry.

This is the thing that makes me feel bad for humanity. If you really believe it is wrong for Biden to use his power for personal gain (not that there's any evidence), how the hell do you justify Trump admitting to doing exactly that?

You're missing the larger point. This is a poll of the general public. The general public regardless of whether they approve or not, believe the impeachment inquiry is a partisan affair.

Here's the rub. Sadly, many Americans have come to believe impeachment is a partisan political mechanism, they support this impeachment and their okay with that.

This might be why Pelosi is slow walking this because she knows she might be walking on shifting ground.

More people now support impeaching Trump and removing him from office than support him as POTUS.
And that's only 1 week into the impeachment.
Took a while with Nixon and the case wasn't nearly as strong.

No I exactly get the point. The people are correct about the motivations of the majority of their representatives.

And no, the poll does not suggest people think it is improper of undeserved; it's just the simple realisation that the vote will go mostly down partisan lines.

First, you're naive if you don't think the wealthy owner of the Ukrainian gas company wasn't buying influence. This is the giant loophole in modern politics. You can't benefit directly from your political position. Don't worry, your family can benefit. This is what makes me feel bad for humanity.

Let's put that aside and we'll ignore Hunter Biden's China deal as well. The FBI and the intelligence apparatus used foreign sources dug up by Hillary's operatives to conduct surveillance Trump campaign and harass the Trump Administration for over two years. I put that in bold because that is a fact. I hear that word from so many liberals here.

There's an objective lesson here in this quagmire that I think you are conveniently missing. Never once did the Mueller team or the Democrats say hey we need to investigate these Americans who paid foreign sources to provide dirt on Trump.

Don't you find it odd that Schiff kicked off the inquiry with dramatic over-the-top theatrics reenacting the Trump-Zelensky conversation in fictional and prejudicial words. Schiff as the prosecutor in this situation should not be testifying let alone reenacting evidence that is readily available to us all. I would call that "playing to the base".

Whether you agreed with the proceedings or not, impeachment proceedings for Nixon and Clinton were very stoic, avoided histrionics and maintained House decorum.
the histrioncs master is Trump himself (Schiff is an amateur by comparison)..... Don's raving like a madman , live and on twitter.....but the simple fact is, he committed an impeachable offence by asking a foreign gov't for help in taking down his probable opponent in the upcoming election. CASE CLOSED.......not even any need to bring up the dozens of other crimes he's commited , the obstructions of justice...... and DECORUM? Trump has destroyed any notion of decorum repeatedly, countless times in the past 3 years. All hail the Lying King!

You do know histrionics, not being agreeable and lacking decorum are not impeachable offenses, don't ya?

The latest polls have 45% of Americans support the impeachment process vs 38% that do not. 44% believe that they should convict Trump vs 35% that do not want him to be convicted. Finally the majority of the Americans are waking up:

https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/usa-today-impeachment-2019

With his latest melodrama asking China to investigate the Bidens, well this number is bound to go up. When are the right wingers going to understand the basics of the law that the President should abide by? The right wing online Conspiracy theorists and alt right media are losing the battle in this respect!!

Vox shows why the Biden story is total nonsense.

This 2016 letter proves that GOP attacks on Biden over Ukraine are nonsense
It wasn’t just Biden who wanted reform in the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office. Republican senators did, too.
https://www.vox.com/2019/10/3/20896869/trump-biden-ukraine-2016-letter-portman-johnson

CNN uncovered a letter dated February 12, 2016, in which Sens. Rob Portman (R-OH), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Mark Kirk (R-IL), along with several Democratic senators, called for Ukraine’s then-president to “press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s office and judiciary.” Four days later, Shokin resigned (although he didn’t officially leave until the following month when Ukraine’s Parliament voted him out).

In other words, both Republicans and Democrats in the US — and many European nations — wanted Shokin gone for failing to clamp down on graft.

The letter is a major blow to Trump’s argument that Biden somehow went rogue and tried to get Shokin fired to protect his son. Biden himself has been incredibly consistent on this point, saying he legitimately pushed for the prosecutor’s ouster with international backing and that he never spoke to his son about his Ukraine work.
