IMHO it is not the "evil weed" but it bothers me that some of our leaders may smoke it

It has medicinal properties but other than that it seems to me it has been proven to weaken your memory with no benefits other than making you feel good

I have tried it and it does make you more social but only in a stupid way

That is why they call it "dope"

Watch the CNN video and learn the answer to some of your questions.

Plus is that it may help medically with terminal illnesses.

Minus is may cause impotence, brain diseases all at a younger age prior to when they normally happen in non smokers.

So you are saying that Dr Gupta is bought and paid for. Most of what is reported in the video is not new.
Michael Moore thinks so

He hates CNN and Gupta and has said so on CNN

I am skeptical about Gupta simply because he is on CNN and I do not trust CNN

During the war on weapons of mass destruction and the invasion of Iraq they were interviewing Generals

But Gupta is a smart guy and can teach you stuff

So who do you trust? As i said most of what was reported is not new news just under a single report, so it's not a matter of trusting CNN. I've even offered the same facts in other threads over the years.

More trusting of TVO, Public broadcasting, magazines with no advertising

Al Jazeera English news television is sponsored by some Arab family .
They hire the best reporters and do not censor them.
Because the family is rich there is no motive to make a profit

Ryerson radio was good but they are now censored

Same with U of T

CNN is a corporation with an agenda - to make a profit

You trust random people on terb (otherwise why would you ask here) Al Jazeera and Moore but not CNN ? Not sure I understand the logic there ( do you think Moore and Al Jazeera don't make a profit perhaps? ) but as long as you aren't making important decisions in this manner good luck to you.

If you don't think AJ doesn't censor their reporters ask/read Avi Lewis, ex CBC, or Ali Hashem, the Beruit reporter for AJ, Hassan Shaaban and producer Mousa Ahmad, if they agree with you. They have as much of an agenda as most News Networks.

The Discovery Channel, and I believe on Nova/PDBS had many of these revelation reported a few years back.

and who were these reporters? At least I gave you names to check. They may have lees than others networks like in Russia and China, but certainly not like many mainstream western media.

As i said, most of the facts reported by this CNN report were reported earlier on other networks. so the CNN distrust factor is moot.

I did not say I trust Moore. I question his reporting as biased and incomplete

Any info from a terbite is one opinion if not sourced

I am dubious but open minded AL Jazerra. Just because it is owned by an Arab does not mean it is propaganda. You have been watching too much CNN

What I have heard by American reporters who work on the American AL Jazerra is that the owners are filthy rich and seem to be interested in reporting the truth (very little advertising on AJ) and that they have yet to be censored in any way

The best news is from a source that has no self interest in the news and is not profit motivated and highly competent

That pretty much limits you to the science channel. When they interview a physics prof from MIT I really feel I am getting the best unbiased source to be found

Fuck if I know. I was just watching a show about AJ and they started talking to some reporters from the American show .

Actually. I watched it and it seemed rather good. All CNN reporting is not biased but they sure did a horrible job reporting the "weapons of mass destruction" fiasco. As far as I know, they still have never done an honest report on whether Bush was lying or not and never will nor have they ever apologised for not doing their job of objective ad competent reporting during said fiasco , nor will they ever

The good thing about marijuana? You'll get stoned, pretty obvious no?

Is there someone out there claiming it'll prolong your life, rejuvenate your skin or help you balance your chequebook or something?

Thread derailed by first reply (post #2). Nice work.

Oh, look. A couple posts that are on topic:

Plus is that it may help medically with terminal illnesses.

Minus is may cause impotence, brain diseases all at a younger age prior to when they normally happen in non smokers.
Plus is that it may not cause impotence, brain diseases, etc. "May" is just another reason to worry.

Another plus: heightens pleasure while fucking.

Uhhh...... What was the question again?
No toke necessary to forget the original question in a derailed thread like this.

That's it. Back to the CNN debate . . . or time to switch channels.
