Probably "no".
Every time someone sneezes in Libya the price of gas changes. Unfortunately always faster and higher upwards and slower and smaller downwards.

seems like a huge rip off, Rbob futures were only up 5 cents a gallon, so 4.9/l is a total rip.

Yeah, the other politicians are going to lower the world price of oil AND lower gas taxes!
libiya doesn't even contribute that much and saudi arabia said that they would pick up the slack of whatever he cut off easily. there is no reason for the price hike other than greed. record profits every quarter for no reason. it was 100$ a barrel and they were making record profits charging .80 a liter, barrel goes up to 102$ a barrel they jack the price to 1.40$ a liter and when the barrel goes back to 100$ they drop the price to .96-1.01$ a liter and we are all relieved and thinking we get a break. barrel goes up to 104$ and they jack the price, it goes back to 100$ and they drop it to 1.15 and we all think we are getting a break.

figur it out real quick man at 100$ a barrel they are making a profit at .80 a liter but are charging 1.15$. you don't get dinner and a movie, no reach around or even a courtesy spit on your asshole. you just take it.

I try to look at the bright side of things. I think a big jump in gas prices is good for the mental health of Canadians. The weather has been too good to complain about lately so the price of gas is the 'go to' thing to complain about. Its a good back up. Where would we be if we couldn't complain about the weather or the price of gas?

San Jose, CA
just gased up in Buffalo for 3.46/gallon. that is 91cents per litre... after currency exchange they are paying 88 cents!

I also just saw a pump with $1.29/litre and our dollar is above par to boot! It should be our prices that are LOWER than the US prices. especially when it's OUR gas, our high dollar!!

we ship them our oil, the process it and ship it back. the cost of shipping is what raises the price. how is this for helping the economy, my new boss tells me to fill up my truck before i cross the border into canada and when i do a cross canada trip i am to cross the border asap and drive because of the cheaper fuel. he is not the only company doing it as well. a lot of american trucking companies don't run into canada anymore because of the fuel cost. i put 500$ a day into my truck's fuel tanks and i see a lot of other canadian trucking companies doing the same.

Its mostly taxes although our retailers do screw us for a few extra cents beyond that.

Yes - freight prices i guess make sense. What I also wonder about is why Orillia and more distance places, often have cheaper gas than the GTA?

Do you think part of the reason gas prices are so high is that canadian consumers don't scream like american's would?

I made quick a bit of dough with oil stocks $$$$$$$. Like I wrote in the other thread, buy some. Crescent Point Energy and InterPipeline yield about 6%, Pembina Pipeline 7%, Suncor has good capital gains.

So T.O. was 129.5 today, but when I was up in Wasaga Beach for the day at the Real Canadian Superstore(Loblaw chain) it was 117.7, plus you get an in-store coupon worth another 2c/litre. How can they sell it for almost 12 cents less? Don't say it's cheaper quality gas, there are only a few refinery companies.

Forget about it? I doubt it will even be noticed by the oil companies.

"Oh they didn't buy our gas on the 15th? That's okay, gas sales on the 14th and 16th made up the difference."
