Toronto fans can keep dreaming, AD is NOT coming to the 6ix....
And we shouldn't want him unless he and Kawhi both agree to resign. We'd be giving up far too much.

I think the only question is who LA will be trading to get him.

I disagree. You went semi all-in with Leonard. Now throw all the chips in for AD. Nobody would blame you for tryin.

Like what the BJ’s did a few years ago. Give the fans a great year or two of post season and they will support you during the low times.

I think the Raps would do this in a heartbeat, problem is, I think you would have to give up Lowry to stay under the cap. You kind of have to go dollar for dollar.

I think Masai is a longer planner and sees Pascal as a key part of a rebuilt team. He won't be the star but he's likely a solid peace. Don't know if he's ready to throw away a gradual improvement for one shot, especially with Boogie looking like he fits in well in the defending champs.

On ESPN they were discussing that Jonas or Serge could be the matching number player (though with JV injured and Ibaka looking old at times - and rumoured to be older I don't know what NO's interest would be.

Perhaps.

But it is so hard to win a championship and the window in the east is now. You threw in so many chips already. Are you really going to long range plan for the next three to four years?

Masai wonrnhave a job a few years from now if last years risky move sinks the team back down to a sub 500 team again with no star power.

Once Leonard leaves, you have no star power and perhaps no conference finals. Then the heat really starts on Masai.

He can do it if anybody can. Does he want to and will NO?

I think if JV can come back and Lowry can gain some of his old magic ( like the numbers he was putting up in the 1st couple of weeks of the season ) they can be the team to beat but in a guard league it seems Lowry is aging quickly and his mind is willing but his body isn't .

We would get Davis for two years even if we lose Kawhi next year. I'm not sure if we could somehow trade Kawhi after the playoffs, but we'd certainly be able to trade Davis next year sometime to get draft picks and players maybe from Boston or another team. If there was a way to do it without trading Pascal, or Lowry(and Kawhi abviously) then I'm all for making a trade.

Playoff lineup might be Pascal, Davis, Kawhi, with Lowry and Green.....

having said that do we seem to have enough trade bait? NOLA would get probably get JV, and Delon Wright and or Van Vleet, OG and/or McCaw

Davis makes 25 million, and Jonas makes 16 million, leaving 9 million in smaller salaries to match up. Ibaka might have to stay as he makes 21million and not enough future potential to NOLA. Van Vleet and Powell might make too much to add in. Wright, OG, McCaw, and Siakam are the obvious smaller add in salaries
Of course if NOLA adds another salary then multiple more possiblities

Not sure there would be interest in Powell, but his game is coming back and actually looking like a 2 way solid veteran presence these days. Might be our gain if he stays. CJ Miles might have to stay too; also a two way veteran.

Funny enough if you look at the NOLA roster, they would probably be 1st in the East with Davis and in the top 3-6 without him?

Raps have not performed well on US national TV (TNT, ESPN). They are on TNT tonight which accounts for the 8PM start.

Nervous time before end of trade deadline on Thrusday. Even more nervous for me if AD ended up in...Milwaukee! Rumor is the Bucks is one of AD preferred destination to resign. There goes the Raps chance of winning the East if AD and the Freak are together!
