How is this not an emergency? There's over 3000 cases now with more on the way. If people would stay at home like they're supposed to instead of hanging at the park there wouldn't be a need to send out the alerts.
I agree. This IS an emergency. If it saves some lives it's worth it. So you get some texts, big deal.

What planet have you been in the last few weeks . The entire country is shut down . Millions have lost their jobs . Stores and businesses have closed down . Health care workers are risking their lives to help people yet you complain of a little incovenience like a health alert .
You are in need of some serious help .
It probably saved more lives. Just relaying how serious this is probably scared at least 1% of the population into taking more seriously. Maybe 0.1% of that would have been saved so 1 in 100,000 lives? That's 30,0000/100,000 = 300 lives. One of those lives could be someone close to yours, or even your own.
So if everyone gets a text once in a while warning them how serious this is, sorry for the inconevenience, but considering the shutdown, it's minor.
Really . Tell that to the thousands that have died . Tell that to the relatives that had someone die . Tell that to the governments who are spending billions to help fight this . Tell that to the medical workers who are putting their lives on the line in order to help people . Tell that to the medical people who have come out of retirement to help the medical field .
What does anyone have to gain by scaring people . People have lost their jobs . No money to pay for rent and food and you call this a joke .
If it's such a joke than why not go see some Sp's that are willing to see you . You can do a review on that . Go have a Covid party . Invite all of your like minded buddies . Let us know how you are in a couple weeks .
Just look at the situation in New York city . You think this is a joke . No room in morgues so they have to use freezer trailers to hold the dead . This is no ordinary flue . Medical people are crying worrying about their families . They can't go home for fear of getting someone in their family sick .

As someone who works in health care reading shit like this really really boils my blood. People who know my history here know I’ve been involved in some drama and harassment on the boards etc etc but it never really impacted me. Reading shit like this makes me mad. I know people like this are out there but like I rather not hear about it. Most my friends and I are here putting our selves at risk faced against something we know has the potential to ravage our society. I just spent the last 30 min comforting my ex / friend whose an ED doc who was on the phone almost in tears cause of the stress, she’s worried about her safety as the front of the front lines against this virus with concerns of PPE shortages. Do you want to tell her it’s a joke too ? Seriously go fuck your self.
We have seen videos testimonies and statistics from people in China Italy France iran And now nyc on the horrors of this but yet even in 2020 where access to internet and information is so readily available fucking idiots like this guy claim it’s all a hoax.

Take the fukkin kid gloves off use a bit of reasoning & common sense ie wash your hands, don't gather in large groups, keep a safe distance if your at work or out shopping, work at home if you can, at risk stay the fack at home..no really stay the fack at home your mostly the ones ending up in the ICU, by all means wear a mask if you can get one & life will go on . This isn't Ebola or the Bubonic Plague ffs. Yes were going to lose some people but it's the cycle of life we've been battling bugs/viruses for thousands of years & we always win

No matter what happens we will win if you define winning as surviving as a species. Of course this has almost no threat to that. But I define winning as utilizing our knowledge and technology to minimize the casualties and in that definition of winning we already lost.
This thing even if ignored completely won’t kill off more than 1-2% at most in my opinion but that is huge one time loss and there is no winning my any standard if we let that happen.
I’m sure your opinion is correct. I will forward it to all the world leaders, doctors and scientists.
Ben I take my hat off to you guys on the front line you have the toughest job in the world right now & no amount of compensation is worth that risk if you don't have the appropriate ppe. I would pray the government gets their shit together & gets the people on the front line the gear they need, it's an absolute embarrassment & slap in the face for the people putting their life on the line.
I understand from your perspective we're not "winning" & obviously it's not a pretty sight from the front line. My great uncle was a doctor in WWII & came back a changed man family said from all the death & destruction he seen. But he was a realist & if he was alive today I don't think he would shut the entire country down & risk putting it into a deep depression over losing .0007 - .0015 % of the population.
Covid os overblown but emergencies were always a part of alert systems
We just never get things like earthquakes or volcanoes etc but they are in there
1- its a flu, get over it. Most of the world will. I have yet to read a single case of healthy person requiring hospital, 99% of cases listed online say "sent home to self isolate"
2- the damage to our economy and damage to peoples psych is far more serious than damage from virus
3- I act live within walking distance to hospital. See it every single day. Parking lots empty, no ambulances rushing in, looks pretty quiet as less serious injury (eg car accidents) arent happening.
4- also for that matter despite the screams of comm transmission, the regions post the cases; here nearly every single person who caught it was either a traveler or family/friend of a traveler. I can count on 1 hand the cases of "unknown" (and most of those are deaths in old age homes). And I obv live in GTA or wouldnt be posting here.
