my top 3 choices for manager - with absolutely no inside knowledge

1. Sandy Alomar (cleveland connection, terry francona connection, roberto alomar connection)

2. Curtis Granderson - agreat guy and great baseball knowledge

3. Joe Girardi - might help us beat the yankees

ok, tell me why i am nuts

My comment of "he is toxic and the fans are staying away in droves" was very tongue in cheek. My guess is that in the long run there will be minimal bad PR. A winning performance washes away a lot of baggage.

I highly doubt that he would have been any major drag on the team if we'd kept him. The argument could have very easily been made that he paid a price (half a season), he is remorseful and a changed person and we will stick by him and give him a second chance albeit with a short leash.
.

Sorry, didn't pick up on the sarcasm.

Agree. If found guilty he may be banned from the U SA. Houston is rolling the dice. Jays had to dump him for publicity reasons

Simple assault doesn't get you banned from anywhere, much less the USA, much less when you're a star athlete.

I am a Gibby fan but I don't see him on the level of excellence either, what has he won and/or where has he excelled? I think he did a decent job with what he had to work with but there is nothing to show for it! Just say thanks and good luck!

Gibby needed to win the WS in either 2015 or 2016 to be put on the LoE. That's what the criteria really is for a manager.

Not sure whether to be happy or sad with the 2018 Jays. I picked them to win either 7-74 or 75-79 this season. (Forget which). They will win about 75, give or take with a team that is missing Josh and its entire starting rotation. Essentially we have had the Toronto Bison-Jays for most of the season. That's suggests that you can field a decent AAA team and compete, but not contend in the AL. Add in that they play in the same division as Bosox, Yanks and TB.

Gurriel, Tellez, Diaz, Grichuk and Hernandez all appear to be keepers. And Reid-F, Gaviglio and Borucki are promising, the latter especially.

.... The big problem for shapeero is that Osuna was not acquired during shapee's tenure. God forbid that an impact player that AA acquired is still on the team.
So, we should expect Vladimir Guererro Jr. to be traded shortly?

Agreed. You could add Giles and Pannone to that list as keepers.

There may be an exception or 2. LOL.
Yeah, shack...

But you have an obsession about Shapeyero that he is only and all about ego... and no evidence whatsoever to make that credible!

You don't consider that he may have a well well thought out, longer term plan that he is following regardless of what you or I think it should be. Your thinking is strictly short term... which may be fair for a fan/customer, but not for the president of a large corporation.

You know I didn't like him when he arrived in the Toronto scene but, as I have observed and think about what he has been doing, I have changed my mind.

Thank god managers don't think like fans!

I don't deny my bias against him. I think it is because the moment he arrived he started eliminating all the fun we were starting to generate under AA. He basically forced AA, the face of the team and someone that the players rallied around, to leave and since then the team has gotten worse each and every year. So yeah, the team has gotten worse under him and we still have, if everything works out, 2 or 3 more years to have a respectable team.

I think his ego is even bigger than his forehead.

No doubt about it, Jays rode the fan support wave when Price was obtained. Great financial move . Even when he left fans kept coming so Jays decided to make as much $ as they could, knowing full well team would fall apart after a couple of years . They could have traded stars a year or two earlier and got young talent for them but decided not to.

It was a business decision.

Borucki I'll grant you, but Reid and Gaviglio??
What exactly do you see in these two?? Because I see very little myself

Check their last couple of starts. They've been lights out.

R-F allowed 3 runs last night, but they were all on fielding errors. He was let down badly by his D.

The problem right now is that 1/2 the Pen shouldn't be in the majors.

Management would have got lynched if they did that. "Breaking up the team! Shapeero is just jealous of AA! Shapeero shouldn't run a major league franchise!"

Nope, not true. Gaviglio only had one good start in his last 3 games. Against TB.

His other 2 starts sucked badly: http://m.mlb.com/player/543208/sam-gaviglio

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 of Sean Reid-Foley last 3 starts also sucked: http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=656887#/career/R/pitching/2018/ALL

Last night: 4 innings 6 hits 2 ER and 4 walks. Thats an ERA of 4.50! You call that lights out??
His start against CLE was also horrible. 4.2 innings 6 ER and 5 walks.
His start against NYY was good however.

I guess me and you have a different opinion of whats lights out.
Do you also see why its hard for me to take you seriously when it comes to radical Islam??
