But this is what I like about him, he's liberal and secular...I don't want no sharia court in Canada !!! This article you posted actually makes my case..... "The fact is that most of his positions are outright unIslamic and unrepresenting of the vast majority of Muslims. For instance, his organization endorsed same-sex marriage, campaigned against Islamic family courts" :thumb:

In the article also go against Irshad Manji a secular Muslim lesbian journalist that has criticized Muslim extremists. Muslim matters are wackos. Don't listen...
You're entitled to have whatever crazy opinion you like, just don't claim that he speaks for many Muslims

Most hijab wearing Muslim women are against extremism but Fatah denounced them all, etc.

He speaks for Sun readers, not Muslims.

What happened to the crazy Muslim matters article you originally posted? LOL

You switched it...what crazy opinion? That he's ok with same sex marriage and against sharia ...is that crazy? You should move to Saudi Arabia were you belong...

Listened to mostly by Sun News fans rather than Muslims

You bring up an interesting point. Whenever I hear Fatah speak, he makes alot of sense, and his values seem to be very much aligned with the western values. He speaks very well, and
I have never heard anything "weird" from him. He is not shy about calling out issues with Islam or Muslim behavior. His Muslim Canadian Congress is not very popular among Muslims. This raises the question if
he is the problem or if Muslims feel he is too progressive and there are not enough Muslims who are willing to take a stand to move their religion into at least the 20th century.

Not popular is an understatement. Most would say he's not even Muslim but following some spin off sect of his own creation. He's got a handful of followers, maybe ten or twenty people in all of Canada, maybe not even.

He makes his living saying what you want to hear but he doesn't in any way represent Islam.

Moderate Muslims who reject extremism, embrace education, integration, etc, do not disparage the hijab for example.

Sorry but the hijab is backward ass custom that belongs in Saudi or some other misogynist country.

Particularly since it's true. There are lots of Muslim women who were the hijab by choice and work in Canada as doctors, lawyers, etc.
Anecdotal and flawed logic. A better measure would be a study of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation muslim women to see what percentage choose to wear the hijab.

Lots of girls marry in Bountiful to pedo Mormons.

It's called indoctrination. And that's what the do to Muslim girls as well.

You can't control thousands of women living in a liberal democracy, especially given the fact that the majority of Muslims living in the West live in big cities, you want proof? Go to Backpages and see the number of girls that advertise as Arab, Persian, Afghan, etc. And add a few more that don't advertise their ethnic background.

I've found men who are critical of traditional Muslim women are secretly jealous. Just like some Muslim men get are jealous that Western women don't dress like they want...STFU, & let women decide who they want to be.

Great idea,...but there is a certain backward religion impeding that.

Actually those women are entitled to speak for themselves. It doesn't matter what percentage wear it, what matters is that it's a valid choice, and many who wear it are educated, empowered women.
