though out my childhood and into my early teens, the music I heard at home was my father,s...god rest his soul...so called ' race music"....I thought he was a cool dude, a grown up white guy listening to Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley. Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Laverne Baker...……...so I came about my love for black music......so while teeny bopper friends were listening to the Beatles, I sought out Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Etta James among dozens of others...……...thanks dad...rest in peace

You are very lucky. I grew up in a conservative Christian home. Only thing I was allowed to listen to was "appropriate Christian music" and some country music. Needless to say I left home at 17.

That was an outstanding revelation ogibowt, never heard of Sister Tharpe before! Smokestack Lightning was the recommendation. Howlin Wolf classic, Willie Dixon gets no recognition?!

IV....just a side note... Sister Rosetta Tharpe was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, last year......well over due

When Michael Rappaport guest hosts on the WUS, I listen. He's crazy and he calls His Booeyness a big toothed gorilla, but he makes pov's that are spot on. He said, hip hop became popular due to governments cutting musical instrumentation from public schools. That's part of the story.

The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame sucks elephant sphincter.

"I actually think the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is an utter and complete load of bollocks, to be honest with you.
"It's run by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn't know rock and roll if it hit them in the face. They need to stop taking Prozac and start drinking fucking beer."

Ok you asked for it lol. Terrance Hobbs (dude with glasses) is an icon and one of my heros!
Oh wow slow down Minormajor! Break me in gradually.

I'll listen to it again with the volume turned down a notch, and try hard again to comprehend the lyrics lol.

On the other hand, the guitar sound is great and reminds me a little of the acid-rock back in another era.

I'm trying to adapt!!

Neil Young also rebelled against his father's ideals. I see similarities there lol.
