They are certainly out of favour for now but there are a lot more sound reasons why people would give up smoking than give up oil. These companies will rebrand as diversified energy akin to Phillip Morris becoming Altria. The American edge is oil and the petrodollar. Cramer is virtue signalling.

The petro dollar is the single greatest soft power tool the world has ever known. Outside of kinetic warfare I am not sure of a single tool used more effectively as a force for deterrent. Could end soon but I wouldn’t bet on it.
