Marner, great pass to Reilly for goal and great moves for goal himself. Penalty shot a bit higher would have been a goal rather than into the pads but excellent effort to get the breakaway to draw the penalty. 2 on 1 with Tavaras good move after defenseman went down just missed the pass but that was an excellent move.

Babcock didn't trust his next best 6 players and decided to take the timeout after Ottawa's icing call.

Very weak game from Andersen. The first goal he was asleep. Set the tone.

Looks like Andersen is again starting out slow. The Leafs played better than they did against Montreal though and had more scoring chances than Ottawa. Ennis seems to be light on his
skates and gets knocked off the puck easily. Maybe they should try Kapanen on Matthews'
line.

As for the six on 5, the first minute and half was controlled by the Leafs like a power play and could have tied the game with a little better luck. I see no reason why Babcock shouldn't have the same matchup again after the icing.

This team is not going to go anywhere unless they can get some defense. They're terribly soft in their own zone, a step behind and hopeless at puck clearing. Other than that, they're guaranteed to win the cup.

Kapanen looks so much better than Ennis on that line. Ennis or Lievo will be out once Nylander comes back. Probably will be Ennis cause he's not a bottom 6 guy. Too small to defend. Ennis also doesn't kill penalties. Neither does Lievo though. They are pretty much the same except Lievo is bigger.

Sparks is seeing these aren't AHL shooters out there. Granted most of those goals he had little chance and he did make a spectacular toe save. Either Ward was weak or Leafs just have too much fire power in Tavaras and Matthews.

In the Montreal game on the 6 on 5 he did go back with the big 6 after the Montreal icing but he took a time out to do it to let everyone rest including the defenders. That defeats the icing advantage. But the top 6 is so much better than the next 6 so.

Nylander made an appearance in a commercial for an Insurance company. He's got income coming in. He's not starving.

Ward was weak. I assume we all saw that overtime goal?
Without Corey Crawford in net, Chicago will not be expected to make the playoffs.

Speaking of which, the three teams the leafs have faced so far were all projected to be bottom dwellers. It'll be interesting to see what happens when they face off against teams that are expected to make the playoffs.

During the Stan Mikita tribute, what is wrong with Bobby Hull?, there were shots of him where he just didn't look well, his head was nodding constantly.

Bobby Hull is older than Stan Makita, he was on the receiving of a lot of on ice violence. That picture of Hull with John Ferguson must be photoshopped, Hull hated him. Ferguson broke his jaw with the butt end of stick.

Babcock must be on this board and took my advice lol. He put Kapanen with Matthews and they just set each other up to tie the game.
At the very least put Kapanen on with Kadri's line. One of the things that puzzles me about Babcock is his misuse of the talent and speed of Kapanen. He's great on the penalty kill too.

He's played Marner and Nylander on the 4th line as well. If Kapanen is a 4th line player then that would be a huge disappointment in his development and growth.

I believe it's a way that Babcock likes to use to groom this young core of players. It's easier to coach, discipline and get them into good work ethics when they're trying to establish themselves and before they achieve 'star' status. He showed some tough love for Marner early last season and that seemed to have helped him to take his game to a different level. He doesn't want the young guys to take things for granted.

Kapanen is playing like he's got hot sauce up his ass, nice set up on Matthzilla's goal. His sixth already.

This season will prove that a fit AM is better than a ripped AM...Oh no! there goes Toronto, Matthzilla.

Kapanan used his strength to hold off the defender before dropping a pass for Matthews' goal. Ennis would've been knocked off the puck and wouldn't be able to make the play. The second assist he used his speed to break up an icing and make a prefect pass to Hainsey for the foal. The Leafs might as well let Willy sit a while longer and save some salaries.

That was an impressive play. Kapanan showed great speed.

Dallas gives up 1 goal in their first two games. Then 7 against the Leafs. Freddie played well and made a spectacular glove save to keep them up 2 goals. The way Matthews is playing now, I think he was banged up in the playoffs last year. They sure are fun to watch!

I think the book out around the league is to shoot low along the ice between the legs on Andersen.
It's delightful that the Leafs have finally posted their first win of the season in regulation time.... but they've also given up 15 goals in their last 3 games - and they haven't yet played a team who are predicted to make the playoffs.
So they play Detroit tomorrow (praise the Lord they're in the Atlantic Division) but it'll be a lot more interesting to see how they do against Washington on Saturday.
