Trivia question: Why doesn't a penalized team serve the full 2 minutes of a penalty if the other team scores a goal on the PP?

Montreal's powerplay was unstoppable and they didn't want games getting out of hand.

Doug Harvey was Bobby Orr before Bobby Orr, Orr just took it to another level.
You don't here his name mentioned so much anymore when they talk about the old greats.
My dad was a huge fan of Beliveau, Harvey, and Moore.

I spent way too much time in Montreal taverns in my youth. The old geezers actually saw players from the 1930's up to the present. They said Doug Harvey was a good enough baseball player to play in the majors. Unfortunately, retirement was not kind to Mr. Harvey.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_Harvey_(ice_hockey)

Speaking of retirement, the old geezers said the great Harvey "Busher" Jackson was seen outside Maple Leaf Garden begging for spare change. BTW: I'm not convinced these old geezers did not occasionally embellish a story.

Another trivia question: Was there ever a time when the NHL allowed no more than one assist per goal?

Apparently, 7 man hockey existed until it was fully phased out in the early 1920's. The 7th man was called a "rover" and, apparently, there are 19 rovers in the HHOF.

Hobart Amery Hare (Hobey) Baker
Russell (Dubbie) Bowie
Thomas Dunderdale
Silas Seth (Si) Griffis
Edouard (Newsy) Lalonde
Duncan McMillan (Mickey) MacKay
Fred G. (Steamer) Maxwell
Francis (Frank) McGee
Lester Patrick
Didier Pitre
Frank Rankin
Ernest (Ernie) Russell
Thomas J. Smith
Bruce Stuart
Frederick (Cyclone) Taylor
Henry Judah (Harry) Trihey
John Phillip (Jack) Walker
Harry (Rat) Westwick
Frederick Whitcroft

There might be better sources but here is a link I found.

I would call that basic knowledge of a basic hockey fan as opposed to trivia. Just like your previous common knowledge (not trivia) question about power plays ending when a goal is scored.

Maybe they are trivia for someone just starting to watch the game.

As usual, you are the master of nitpicking. Congrats.

So, you didn't know the answer to either question.

They insulted my intelligence as they did George's, who mocked you. Maybe add him to the growing list of BFFs.

Hey Master Nitpicker, George, unlike you, at least knows something about hockey (but not idioms).

Actually, I think "who were the "Silver Seven" would make a good trivia question. Sorry Shack, we all know how smart you think you are.

And of course our city politicians in their infinite wisdom have made street hockey illegal.

Quite a progressive world we live in.

Listen dude. A guy (YOU) who cannot even tell time is in no position to discuss anyone else's intelligence. I notice that you deleted that thread about Syria, the one where you thought that someone started a thread on the same topic after you did, when in actuality you made yours 7 hours after the other. You thought 12:23 AM was later than your post at approximately 7:00 AM.:D:rofl:

Keep posting nonsense and I will keep pointing it out.

Trivia question of Darts difficulty: Who has won more Stanley Cups, Toronto or Edmonton? p.s. You are not allowed to look it up?
