Tony Romo makes me cringe. Yes, at times he is super insightful and I enjoy hearing his take on how plays unfold, the reads at the line etc. His sharing of how a QB thinks can be awesome.

But when he jumps into cheerleader mode and his voice gets high pitched and whiny I have to mute him. I know he is new and expect over time he will calm down and gain more control. In fact he improved over the course of the season. He still has a ways to go IMO

I enjoy Romo and his insight. Another person who is similar to him is Jason Whitten of the ESPN crew.

The guy from CBS who called the Superbowl, Jim Nanz, is boring and sappy.

Most of these "personalities" are just there to report the sporting news so for me, the more eye candy the better. Natasha Staniszewski, Kate Beirness, Caroline Cameron & Martine Gaillard to name a few. Jody Vance used to keep me tuned to Sportsnet in the AM.

That said, if we are talking about analysis or opinion, I think Cassie Campbell may know a little bit more about hockey than most male commentators.

Jim Nantz is my current favourite announcer. I find him well spoken and not over the top like so many announcers.
