Ii sometimes have a Costco dog but does anyone have any recommendations for a high quality hot dog? I guess it being Kosher or Halal might indicate some care has gone into the sausage making.

If you like the street meat sausages, I go here to get the same ones that supply the guys on the street. They have the buns as well.

I do like hot dogs on occasion. Oddly with BBQ steak. A original offering from Dianna Sweets on Yonge Street about 50 years ago.
I miss Kwinters hot dogs too.
I have not found a replacement, but when desperate I partake of Costco's brand - they are the best, but not Kwinters.
Now we will be losing some long relationships with our favourite restaurants to covid.

This brought back memories. Back in the day (i'm 70 now) I used to always have 4 hotdogs whenever I made them. Schneiders all beef, top sliced bun, mustard, fried onions and a sliced dill pickle. sooooo good....
When I have a BBQ I sous vide cook the hot dogs before I put them on the grill. That way I know they are well cooked and then the hotdog just need a quick searing over the charcoal. There is nothing worse than a blackened charred hotdog on the outside and under cooked on the inside.
Sometimes I grab a hotdog at Costco. I bring along my Dijon mayonnaise that I mix myself. It really improves the hotdog.
