Well after watching the Korchinski-Paquet marches we have been given an actual real test
I suppose some will chip in about society unfairly using lower classes as guinea pigs and all but so be it

Thousands congregate to march in downtown Toronto
Noone is wearing a medical grade mask, gloves, or staying more than 1 foot apart from each other (majority have no gloves at all, and at least half no face coverings at all)

So what is going to happen?
Is Covid real and a huge spike is coming?
Is Covid about to be proven false?

Vote and comment!

*edit

We now have a SECOND case study as covidiots gather in Montreal to protest the actions of Minnesota police (why???)
So lets sit back and watch both cities for a spike

Define the "spike". If you take the seniors' holding facilities out of the equation, we didn't have much of a first wave, either.

Well since transmission is supposedly 2 to 1 for infections would need at least 2.5 for a "big" spike
If lower then that would be a minor increase

Let's say the marches cause 2,000 new infections - we won't know unless those infected seek out testing. Or those that were infected then infect others and they in turn seek out testing.

While Ontario is now allowing those without symptoms to get tested, the results we keep watching for daily (including myself) is impacted quite a bit by those who choose to, and who choose not to, get tested.

With the province now sharing regional data we may see the narrative shift to 'spikes in Toronto' or 'spikes in the GTA' versus 'spikes in Ontario'. And yes of course spikes can occur in other regions 'Spikes in Windsor' for example.

Time to catch our breath (errr, not the best statement I know lol) and see what the next week brings.

Oh I left a 30 day window on poll to allow for some actual transmission to start
At least that was fair.

As for US if they actually report true numbers which I suspect they are no longer doing will be a disaster COVID wise.

Don't get me wrong, but these riots are much more entertaining to watch than listening to that constant virus obsession. I guess we now get to see the true "threat" of the covid19. It will probably fall below the burning cities, in the order of importance.

With such a high % of cases in LTC and hospital settings it would not surprise me if barely anybody at the rally had Covid jist like their wasn't a huge spike after Bellwoods.

Think the media, the general public and the various political parties have grown tired of reporting on the virus.

The numbers are starting to mean very little. The saturation point has been reached

Time to open things up. Who cares if the numbers go up. The lockdown is a huge cluster F

The media has switched their attention, but they were mostly acting like the virus should be virtually wiped out before reopening. They have been proclaiming that there will be a terrible spike anywhere that has reopened.

I agree, but the virus is definitely connected to these riots. There are millions idle, unemployed, dissatisfied and freaked out kids out there. In that kind of a climate anything is possible.

There might be a small rise in cases because of the protest and the park last weekend but nothing to worry about

That said, the people to have the right to visit the park and protest. Civil liberties need to be put first

I truly hope there is no spike, because maybe now we can- finally- put this pandemic to rest. I doubt there will be a spike anyway.

Climate change was supplanted by the pandemic, and now the pandemic has been supplanted by police abuse. The first two are essentially media inventions that we all know are BS when we're confronted with things that really matter.

The big spike this week came from migrant workers not the park dwellers or the protesters.

Maybe the farmer has issue with their eating and sleeping arrangements as they cannot adequately social isolate

And notice the migrant workers got sick despite the mandatory 14 day isolation thing?
Lockdowns dont work
We have more than enough ample evidence of this

The boards are becoming silent from covidiots who support them

They’re coming around to the fact that lock downs don’t work, covid is a new flu, and that this whole thing was no reason to upend the world economies over. Oh and they’re sad and bracing themselves for the end of the CERB payments realizing they don’t have a job to return to.

The most epic fail of our lifetime.

Most of us have given up on the amigos. The lockdown is in the hands of the government and professionals not wannabe Terb medical amigos. The rest of you can babble on and on, it won't change a thing.
