Now ruled a crime in Canada by a judge.

Anyway here is where Trudeau screwed up. He should have warned Meng not to come in when the request came down quietly via a staffer via a Proton email account. That's the way these things are usually done.

Beyond that Trudeau is following the law and treaties. These go beyond both leaders and need to be respected.

I hadn’t thought of that.

But I don’t think Trudeau screwed up, per se. If he didn’t do it then there is a reason. I don’t know what it is...but I don’t think it was an accident.

I wonder if JT is hyper-sensitive about keeping boundaries with the Justice Dept after the whole SNC Lavalin debacle? If that was the reason then in my opinion Trudeau did the right thing- just play it by the rules and deal with whatever happens.

A Canadian court determined it would be a crime in Canada as well.
