Was driving about and heard "freewill" from Rush and i laugh because for the first year I was exposed to this song many moons ago I thought I heard "I will choose a bathesphere; I will choose free will" instead of "I will choose a path that's clear..."

What are some of your misheard lyrics?

A second one from me is Daft Punk "Get Lucky":
"I'm on a Mexican monkey" instead of "I'm up all night to get lucky".

LOL...

I was young when Dean Martin sang That’s Amore and, because I’d never had a pizza, thought the first lines were
“When the moon hits your eye like a big piece of pie.”

Not sure if the story is true but I'd heard that they changed the original title of In the Garden of Eden because no one could figure it out.

The Northern Ontario heavy parties at Springhurst were full of surprises. They all drank heavily at the time, one of them was a transvestite, no one was fazed by that. Most of them were Zappa fans and they misheard one of his songs that stayed with me till recently:

Actual lyrics:
He was whippin up the batter
For the pancakes for his flock

Their lyrics:
He was whippin up the batter
For the pancakes with his cock

They sort of had a point, Father Bivion Oblivion's pancakes were light and fluffy white.

It's called a Mondegreen. The term comes from an old Scottish song that has the lyrics "laid him on the green" and was misheard as Lady Mondegreen.

Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze: "Excuse me while I kiss the sky"

Misheard as "Excuse me while I kiss this guy"

One the most beautiful pop songs from the 80s is While You See A Chance by Steve Winwood. Whenever he sang "when some sad old dream reminds you..." to me it always sounded like he was saying "when some sodomy reminds you...". To this day it still sounds like my original interpretation...just heard it a few days ago in fact. Obviously it is all in the phrasing LOL.
