I'm not so sure that is a scientific fact. Are you just looking at deaths divided by known cases?
He's referring to known/reported cases. Clearly has no clue that most cases go unreported, in large part because most infected people don't even know they're infected. The arrogance of the ignorant is astounding.

Yes they do! This has been consistent from the beginning.
Wearing a mask may help but the messaging about masks has been anything but consistent from the beginning, from the WHO on down. Are you living in the same world as the rest of us?

I'm not calculating anything, that is the average calculated death rate from the medical community.
It is more a scientific fact than the odds of death being 0 as Smallbrain was stating.
If that was the case than I guess all the deaths from Covid-19 have just been figments of our imagination.
Are you 80 and suffering from dementia? I feel your pain.

Stats are not very useful without context or appropriate interpretation.

Try again Smallbrain.

The WHO has always maintained, from the beginning, that in regular social environments, wearing a mask does not appreciably protect a person from being infected with Covid-19.
And that hasn't changed.

As they have found out more about asymptomatic carriers, they later recommended them as a way to prevent unknowingly infecting others.

But keep spreading your mis-information.

You're in need of a win out of sheer desperation, so I will give you one.

How are you being treated in the nursing home at this time?

Based on the latest testing data they have, this is the death rate at this point. Which is how science derives things, by using the best data it has available.

Unlike you, who pulls a number like 0% out of your ass, and presents it like fact, ignoring the roughly 350,000 people that have died from it around the world.

Stop trying to act smart. You're sorely lacking in experience to successfully pull it off.

Science tells us that based on antibody tests that as much as 40 times more people have been infected than have been reported. Do the math. I understand it's been about 70 years since you were in public school, but still.

Which antibody test?
The only one that is accurate and precise?
Which test is that exactly?

There hasn't been a single serological test that has been certified as accurate as of yet numb nuts.

They haven't even been able to prove that the antibodies these tests are picking up, are specifically covid-19 antibodies, or just antibodies produced from any virus in the Corona virus Family.
That's why the federal Government isn't doing any serological testing in Canada as of yet, because the tests are not accurate enough to give any useful information.

Again. Educate yourself before you embarrass yourself.

No single test currently available is completely reliable however there is a lot of converging evidence from a wide variety existing studies, surveys, and reports to estimate the number of infected. What they have in common is converging evidence that the number of infected far exceeds those reported/known cases. All major organizations including the WHO have already stated that most infected people experience mild or no symptoms.

We know which demographics are most impacted by the virus, and we have a fairly accurate figure on deaths.

But let's assume none of these preliminary studies pan out, that we've miraculously captured all infected in the data, and that the 6% aggregate death rate that you cited, is the true death rate.

This would mean that opening up the economy as planned in Ontario, Italy, and many places over the world will result in more deaths even with protective measures in place. You may be willing to walk on eggshells for the next few months or years because you're afraid, but don't expect everyone else to.
