To imagine people with assault weapons forcing themselves into the legislator building when legislators are in session.

I bet Trump is calling them "fine people"

USA is fast descending into banana republic status.

It's called freedom and the rule of law. I can see why Canadians would find it confusing.
Explain please, as I and most other Canadians cannot fathom the concept of how and why a machine gun toting, Nazi and Confederate flag waving, terror inducing, white supremacist mob has anything to do with what you refer to as freedom and rule of law.

Open carry is the law. If you don't like it you can advocate for a change, but you may not demand for the law to be ignored because you're scared.

The people have decided that they want open carry laws on the books. End of the story.

Why in God's name would I be scared? I do not give a rat's ass how the Americans want to live. That is their choice, and good luck with it.

I have just never seen anything like this except in banana republics. It is bizarre.

So they decided to storm the Michigan state legislature building as a rabid, machine gun toting, white supremacist rampaging mob in order to terrorize a sitting legislature body about open carry laws on the books?

Machine guns are illegal, white supremacist is anyone lefties disagree with and the legislature was not terrorized nor did they "storm" the people's house. Frankly, you are the bigger threat than a hundred armed protesters. These people are just exercising what is rightfully theirs under their laws.

Well they sure weren't the Jed Clampbett style of double barrel hunting shotgun they were a'hunting squirrels with inside the legislature building. Raging, fearsome military mass casualty causing, automatic assault weapons toting, armed militia clothed, Nazi and Confederate flag waving, legislature storming and terrorizing, rabid white supremacist rampaging mob is what the images portray and what their hearts and souls are infested with.

Mind boggling where most Canadians were left with images of terror while a few saw images of heroic figures of freedom and liberty framed by a glistening babbling brook, flowing through a flowering meadow on a warm and sunny Spring day with frolicking chipmunks and sweetly singing birdies.

There were no automatic weapons present because those are illegal, the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting, there were no nazi flags nor is tactical attire any kind of "militia clothes". I watched the footage, examined the pictures and watched interviews with the protesters, saw the online stuff. Everyone behaved as well as it is expected during a protest rally, no weapons were discharged and cops took it in stride ,without overreacting. You're just intimidated by the optics. Fear is no reason to curtail people's rights. Of course, in Canada, our PM did just that, last week. I perfectly understand why you object... little rabbit.

Such a civilized, socially graceful, welcoming, open minded, afternoon tea sipping delegation seeking nothing more than a open, thoughtful and mutually caring dialogue of peace and brotherhood be they.

It's a matter of opinion, is it not? What you neglected to mention that the honorable Government of Michigan wasn't interested in any kind of dialogue, so she got a few protesters. It's all as it should be.

The left are such snowflakes. "Oh the horror, people carrying guns" They didn't break any laws. Ask the Democrats why they didn't change the laws when Obama was in power for 8 years? It's because the Democrats know it's a losing issue. They care more about votes and power than gun control, same goes for the Republicans.

I'm sure you did watch it closely.

Even so you ignored the confederate flags and signs with swastikas.
On Friday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld argued that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer had wrongly tarred protesters who've accused her of being a Nazi by pointing out that they carried signs with swastikas on them during protests in Lansing this week. Gutfeld denied that any of the protesters were Nazis.

Trump of course said there were some 'very fine people' there.

Are you defending white supremacists here, jcpro?

Do You actually think it is reasonable that armed protesters can muscle their way into a legislative building when in session?

If people are leftist snowflakes if they find that offensive, I am afraid most people are leftist snowflakes.

I am glad I voted with my feet long before USA became a banana republic.

Did they muscle themselves in? I'm sure if they were doing something illegal the police would have arrested them, Correct? The Democrats have muscled their way into legislative sessions as well and were yelling during the proceedings. they have a right to protest, both sides. It's called Democracy. If you believe it's a banana republic, it's been that way for a long time now. Not much has changed in the last 40 years when it comes to that.
