Have you actually taken an impartial look at what the WHO did, what they knew about this new virus strain, and when they knew it or are you simply relying on commentary from conservative US news sites?

Nope it is am impartial view. I don't read conservative websites. Everyone is blaming the WHO. CNN blamed the WHO. Nothing biased about what I said

I think the criticism of the WHO is fair. I also think Trump is using this as an excuse to cut their funding because he hates multilateral international organizations.

I believe the concept of having a world health organization makes sense for many reasons; a better response would have been to call for the resignation of the WHO president...an even better idea would have been to wait until this pandemic is under control before Trump starts beating his chest and picking fights with an international organization but there’s an election coming and Trump needs as many enemies to fight with as possible.

Good. They have proven themselves to be nothing but Healthcrats bending the knee to China and ignoring experienced countries like Taiwan.

How often does a pandemic of this magnitude happen? And when it does, they fail to act switfly and decisively creating confusion and blurred lines of action.

Like the UN, they have become irrelevant.

https://twitter.com/WHO/status/1217043229427761152?s=20

We know that Taiwan communicated to the WHO and had evidence that there was human to human transmission as early as December. The WHO is garbage. Hope UN is next.

The WHO relayed the info they were given by China.
China held that info back, blame them, not WHO.

Or fund the WHO so that they can do their own research quickly.
They were funded. Now they are defunded.

Taiwan went directly to the WHO, so what you said isn’t of issue anyways.

Garbage UN is next.

Trump is ( as usual) trying to deflect blame away from his terrible response and onto the WHO and of course, China. Pathetic attempt.

Agree, WHO has a long history of getting it wrong - swine flu, bird flu, incurable clap, just to name a few which were over hyped, and now Covid-19 which was underhyped. Plus Trump needs someone to blame because he keeps fucking up.

Exactly, it's the Governors, the Democrats, Obama, the media, now WHO.
His press briefings are beyond the pale.

He’s eminently qualified. Masters in Infectious Diseases and PhD in Community Health.

“In 1986, Tedros received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology from the University of Asmara.[12] In 1992, Tedros received a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Immunology of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine at the University of London.[7] In 2000, he earned a PhD in community health from the University of Nottingham for research investigating the effects of dams on the transmission of malaria in the Tigray region of Ethiopia.[13]”

In 2001, Tedros was appointed head of the Tigray Regional Health Bureau.[7] As head of the bureau, Tedros was credited with making a 22% reduction in AIDS prevalence in the region, and a 69% reduction in meningitis cases. He oversaw a campaign to improve ICT access that installed computers and internet connectivity to most of the region's hospitals and clinics, whereas they had not been connected before.[15]

During his time in this position, health care staffing was increased by 50%. Immunization for measles was raised to 98% of all children and total immunisation for all children under 12 months was raised to 74%. The percentage of government funding for the Tigray Regional Health Bureau was increased to 65%, with foreign donors' percentage falling to 35%. Overall, 69% of the population was provided with health care services within 10 km.[15]

In late 2003, Tedros was appointed a State Minister (deputy minister) for Health and served for just over a year.[16]“

If you actually followed world politics, you would have noticed that the WHO DID FAIL to react properly.

Everything the WHO said to the world was WRONG!!

The WHO said there was no evidence of human to human transmission -- WRONG

The WHO said masks are NOT NECESSARY -- WRONG

The WHO said the closing of borders was NOT NECESSARY -- WRONG

Dude, you need to stop watching CNN. I would be VERY embarrassed with your post.

If you followed SKYNET news instead of CNN and other govt sponsored media, you would have noticed that there actually is a call for Tedros to step down.

Last I seen, there was even a petition for his removal. It had almost 900000 names out of 1 million required.https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/worl...ros-to-resign-nears-1m-signatures/ar-BB12vLXe Catch up buddy.

Interesting is the fact that you put blame on Trump, then China before the WHO.

China funded the WHO a couple months ago with a 20 million dollar "GIFT". https://www.fmprc.gov.cn/mfa_eng/topics_665678/kjgzbdfyyq/t1753368.shtml

I call for a public hanging of Tedros for crimes against humanity.

Tedros is claiming racism from Taiwan now. Deflection! https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...s-who-claim-of-racist-campaign-against-tedros

It is the very primitive American response to everything: We are exceptional, do not need international organizations.

See how it worked with Covid-19.

Sure, SARS, MERS, Ebola, and now COVID-19 will all do much better without anybody watching them.
Their market shares will skyrocket.

Yup, and those viruses reached North America as well!!! LMAO!

Actually, those viruses came here after Gates was filled in for the health job and started giving the WHO 10-11% funding! Conflict of interest????????

Give up Franky. Stop making excuses because thats all you do to prove a point. You never have your own facts or evidence. Admit it, the WHO fucked up and have been fucking up since 1999!!!!

The U.S gives them more than $500 million every year more than any other country. Why did they trust China? Doesn't that tell you all you need to know? They dropped the ball, plain and simple. They deserve the blame.
